Very good book about Aspergers by someone who actually has Aspergers. John Elder Robison gives a first hand look into life on the Autism Spectrum. Really enjoyed his descriptions of the differences between thought processes of a person with Asperge's and a "normal" person. A must read for anyone who knows someone with Aspergers.

The Trigger, by author Hon Hoh is an interesting take on the tribulation period that will have many pre-tribulation believers grabbing their bibles to make sure they are right. The novel follows three people: Josh - a Pastor of a huge church, Yang- a spy, and Scott - a missionary, as well as some angels and demons in the spiritual realm. Josh, Yang and Scott are all convinced that they need to be holding a rally for the last unreached people on earth, but there are forces in the spiritual realm who don't want that to happen for obvious reasons - the people that become believers at this event will trigger Christ's coming. Something the devil definitely does not want to happen. But other things are taking place as well and the world is in chaos. The members of Josh's church are sure the Rapture will happen any day, but now, convinced that he preached the wrong message to his parishioners in regards to the rapture, Josh is convinced Christians will now live through the tribulation and he has to prepare his congregation for news they never expected to live through - persecution by the Antichrist. This novel is going to be a shocker for those with a pre-trib view. If you believe the rapture is going to happen soon, this book might even make you mad. However, if you have an open mind it might encourage you to pick up your bible and find out for yourself if the rapture is something that is really going to happen before the tribulation. Either way, The Trigger will definitely provoke discussion and probably lead the reader to look closely at end-times scripture. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

I have to start out by saying that I think Mortensen's work (building schools for boys and [especially:] girls in the Muslim world) is important and vital. That said, I didn't come away from this book with a sense of Mortensen as a hero, but as kind of an asshole. He neglected the business side of the foundation he was charged with running so that it nearly went bankrupt (a board member, the wife of the man who endowed the foundation with a million dollars upon his death, ultimately distanced herself from the foundation); left his wife and young children to live paycheck-to-paycheck for months at a time to go to Pakistan and Afghanistan; and took stupid risks that could have gotten him killed a million times over. At one point, lying on the ground while rival drug traffikers had a firefight literally right above his head, Mortenson thought about how his wife would explain to his kids that their dad died building schools for kids and that thought, "made him feel good." Really? You felt good imagining how your wife would have to tell your kids you were dead? Jackass.

They are so stuffed with action and characters that are so fun. I love them all. You have to check out the series if you haven't. Even my dad is hooked. This book, Angel, had me angry, then happy, then sad, but I could not put it down. The action kept me turning the pages even though the story made me mad at sometimes. I would recommend this book to anyone that doesn't want to read a boring, mushy book, but want to be taken on a Maximum Ride. I take off one feather because I was torn with the ending, but would still read it again. The characters stayed true to themselves. So, this gets 4 out of 5 FEATHERS.
