This book was very exciting, Garnet's fiance goes missing and someone is attacking her magically. Not to mention the mysterious Micah who claims to be able to rid her of her Goddess-in-residence. She tries to start a new coven and crazy things begin to happen. She has to enlist the help of her fiance's son Matayas who really doesn't like her. I wonder sometimes how Garnet manages to not get herself killed!

These are letters that were written when Jane was a young girl in her teenage years. They were compiled and tell a bit of a story between two friends. I could have lived without reading this one, but wanting to complete everything she is written, I am glad I pursued it. The spelling had not been edited and the letters were somewhat incomplete.

A good book with a good story, but a little too big for its britches.

"Meeting with Veidt left bad taste in mouth. He is pampered and decadent, betraying even his own shallow, liberal affectations. Possibly homosexual? Must remember to investigate further. Dreiberg as bad. A flabby failure who sits whimpering in his basement. Why are so few of us left active, healthy, and without personality disorders?" - p. 19 "Moe Vernon was a man around fifty-five or so, and he had one of those old New York faces that you don't see anymore. It's funny, but certain faces seem to go in and out of style. You look at old photographs and everybody has a certain look to them, almost as if they're related. Look at pictures from ten years later and you can see there's a new kind of face starting to predominate, and that the old faces are fading away and vanishing, never to be seen again." "It's a strange feeling...the first time you meet [Dr. Manhattan:] your brain wants to scream, blow a fuse and shut itself down immediately, refusing to accept that he exists. This lasts for a couple of minutes, at which time he's still there and hasn't gone away, and in the end you just accept him because he's standing there talking to you and after a while it almost seems normal." "It says that any dead family members should be wrapped in plastic garbage sacks and placed outside for collection." "When I left you, when Nova Express attacked you, you were surprised. Whay, if you knew it would happen?" "Everything is preordained, even my responses." "And you just go through the motions, acting them out? Is that what you are? The most powerful thing in the universe and you're just a puppet following a script?" "We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings." "Y-You know about me and Dan?" "No. Not yet. But in a few moments you're going to tell me." "Aaaaagh! Jon, what are you trying to do to me? When you're like this I can't even talk to you, let alone debate the what was it..." "Destiny of the world." "Destiny of the world." "I mean, this is ridiculous. Why hold a debate when you already know the goddamned outcome?" "Because...there is no future. There is no past. Do you see? Time is simultaneous, an intricately structured jewel that humans insist on viewing one edge at a time, when the whole design is visible in every facet." "Come...dry your eyes, for you are life, rarer than a quark and unpredictable beyond the dreams of Heisenberg; the clay in which the forces that shape all things leave their fingerprints most clearly." "I have something to celebrate. Thank you. Veidt out." "I like electronic music. That's a very superhero-y thing to like, I suppose, isn't it? I like avant-garde music in general. Cage, Stockhausen, Penderecki, Andrew Lang, Pierre Henry. Terry Riley is very good. Oh, and I've heard some interesting new music from Jamaica...a sort of hybrid between electronic music and reggae. It's a fascinating study in the new musical forms generated when a largely pre-technological cultre is given access to modern recording techniques without the technological preconceptions that we've allowed to accumulate, limiting our vision. It's called dub music. You'd like it, I'm sure." "Seymore, do not dignify absurdities with coverage. This is still America, god dammit! Who wants a cowboy actor in the White House?"

Sort of an uneven story, charming illustrations, but the story is hard to follow.

I personally think this book was really great, like how there was such details on almost everything. This is my second time reading this book that is how interesting it is. It talks about 3 new Greek heroes trying to save a god. They go through a lot of stuff like Leo finding a basement full of ancient war items. They also find out who Percy is and how to find him. I recommend this book to anyone that likes fantasy and Greek myths. You can get lost in it easily because i did. If you hadn't read the other Greek books by this author then read it because it is very good and i ain`t lying.
