I really enjoyed this story by Mark Peter Hughes. I am the Wallpaper is about a thirteen year old girl Floey Packer, who feels as though she's never been anything special compared to her fabulous glamorous older sister. When Floey's sister Lillian all at once gets married, it's Floey's time to shine. Throughout the story, you'll get to experience firsthand what Floey's journey is like as she grows as a person and becomes the "new and improved Floey Packer." But when Floey's younger cousins who are spending the summer with her find Floey's private journal and publish it on the internet, her life is turned upside down. Can Floey still continue on smoothly as the new Floey Packer, or will she encounter a few bumps along the way? You'll have to read in order to find out:) I highly recommend this book to any teenage girl because it's easily relatable and sure to get a laugh out of you!

I really enjoyed this book! Typically I'm not a fan of of second books (especially ones that end with cliff hangers) but this one was great. I enjoyed it more than Hex Hall. I really like the character of Sophie, she is sarcastic and vulnerable without being cliche and I think that makes this series so great. This book asks a lot more questions than it answers and ends with a pretty significant cliffhanger so I am definitely looking forward to the next book!

now this....this book is truly a representation of it's title. Heartbreaking...Genius!! Beautiful chronicle of a boy....a teenagers transition through a less than "traditional" life and the struggle and beauty it brought to him. Wow....really can't say enough about this book.

I have no idea why it took me so long to read The Scarlet Letter. Well, I guess I missed the part of high school when they read it, and then in college I read a bunch of Hawthorne's short stories but none of his novels. And maybe I was a little bit scared by all the people - people who read serious, literary stuff - telling me how hard it was. Especially the introduction. That infamous introduction... In any case, I finally read it, and loved it. Even the introduction. Sure, it wasn't the quickest read, but I loved every word. Hawthorne's language is mesmerizing, the plot is compelling (even though I knew the outline), and some surprisingly modern issues are dealt with in interesting ways. I have visited various Hawthorne sites in Salem and Concord, MA, and this definitely added to my enjoyment of the book. If you're in the area, I'd definitely visit the real House of the Seven Gables (http://www.7gables.org) and then give Hawthorne a try.
