The writing was good and made me wish the story were a lot less depressing. It's one of those books that keeps your interest even as the horrible/sad events keep piling up, which is what kept me reading till the end. I liked the way the story was wrapped up and there was some amazing imagery, but I wished it could have been just a little lighter along the way.

I love all of the Anna Travis mystery books but found myself a little bored by this book. A bit repetitious and long winded. On a good note, I think Linda LaPlante does an excellent job with the character roles and develops them nicely.

Probably one of the best books I've ever read. I remeber being amazed by the magic of a one and a half page sentence. Sentences, chapters, characters, the plot - everything is perfectly constructed.

This is a delightful little book with a wonderful and entirely unexpected ending. Anyone who loves books will love this one.

A quick read and very engrossing story. I really enjoyed this book.
I read this for a seminary class; it's written by my professor. It can be a bit slow at times, but it's interesting b/c provides insight into how the Old Testament convenant affects/fulfills the New Testament covenant.

Sip.

Not a fan of zombie fiction and this book does nothing to convince me to change otherwise. Rot & Ruin was well written but I felt that there were too much 'telling' in the story instead of plotting clues for the readers to think about. At times, it was predictable to the point I asked myself: isn't zombie fiction suppose to be an exciting read? Yes, I admit there were heaps of actions happening in the story but I wasn't thrilled by it at all. Gosh, as much as I would like look up to Tom Imura as a 'hero', I somewhat felt like Tom is the kind of the teacher in school I would want to avoid. Everything he said about life, facing your fears and etc. felt very forced. I enjoyed some parts of the book and definitely the writing style but for a non-hardcore zombie fan like me, I'll probably stay away from book 2.
