This was a good story, but not as good as the original in my opinion. It was good to see how Danny and Paul come together and how Danny finally becomes a responsible adult. You also get to meet their doctor.

This book was given to me by a friend of my mothers along with a few others. I took it with me on a plane ride to San Francisco and couldn't put it down. I stayed inside almost the entire trip reading. It is one of my favorite books because it combines a few things I love, science fiction, Victorian England, mysteries and cats.

My favorite Star Trek novel, though I knocked it down a star for the presence of a character that, no matter how much I like her, is definitely a Mary Sue. However, she can't detract from a lovely exploration of an alien race with unexpected and well drawn cultural and physiological differences. Not to mention a view of the Enterprise crew as talented professionals doing difficult scientific jobs well. And I really, really want to take Chekov's old anthropology course.

Any author that can write so well that I want to go to the Library of Congress has my vote. Solving a mystery of the US Mint, John D Rockefeller, Emily Dickinson, Winston Churchill. A couple of times I thought I had solved the mystery then. Wham! Wrong again.

Katie Ve Yıldızlı Gece - James Mayhew TrendKitaplar Kütüphanesi

This is the first book in the series. I read it with my 13 year old son. He LOVED it and I can see why. Alex Rider, the main character, is a brave, unassuming 14 year old boy who does some pretty fantastic things. It's not fantasy in a literary sense, but it IS fantasy. Not all that believable, but a great read for a young boy ...sometimes a hard type of book to find. I've read many books in the series, so I have to say I find them compelling as well.

There are more than enough reviews praising this book. You can find the plot summary and critiques everywhere. What I particularly liked is that a romantic person, desperately trying to follow some notion of honorable conduct and help people, is continually running into reality, and often doing more harm than good. When I read it last year (2006), it particularly reminded me of me at that moment. I do often tilt at windwills, and become enamored with illusions. But in the end, sometimes manage to do some good. I hope.

I've never been a WWII buff or even much into non-fiction history. But after joining a book club a couple of years ago this was one of the books I selected. Not being an avid or speed reader I figured I'd start this and trudge through it for quite awhile. To my surprise I finished this entire book in 10 days. As for the book itself I thought it was presented in a very readable fashion and the topic was rather fascinating, especially for someone like me who while obviously knows about Hitler, didn't know all the details about his life and rise to power. I was just totally intrigued in how a man and group of hatemongering racists could come to power with such fanatical support. It's also interesting how circumstances and events just seemed to fall into place to virtually pave the way for a dictator like this to obtain power. Overall I felt this was a very interesting, intriguing and informative read.
