** spoiler alert ** Linger by Maggie Stiefvater is a captivating sequel to Shiver. It is about a pack of wolves, but they are not any wolves. When it is cold, they are a pack of wolves, but once the heat of summer comes out, these wolves turn back into their original human forms. This story is all about this pack and one unfortunate teenage girl named Grace. She herself should have become a part of the pack like her boyfriend Sam, but right after the incident where she got attacked by the wolves one winter when she was a young girl, her dad accidentally locked her in a car on a scorching hot day. This stopped her from transforming. Until now. I really liked this book. It kept you interested, always wondering what would come next. When Grace got that sick, I was always wondering what was causing it and how things would turn out in the end. It kept me curious, which kept me reading, and I did not put it down until I had finished. Though this book was fiction, I could relate to a lot of the emotions and thought processes going through both Grace's and Sam's heads. This made it more realistic. In my opinion, this made the book about 20 times better than it would have been without it. I recommend this book to anybody who enjoys trying to puzzle pieces of an ordeal together so that it all makes sense, but this book will probably be confusing if you do not read Shiver first.

This book explores the bonds between twins and motherhood. Ashaya has a twin who isn't quite good but isn't quite evil but she has to accept her and is responsible for her; and she will do anything to look after her twin despite what her twin has done to her. She also has responsibility for her son and the book explores how she will do anything to protect him; but also to protect her twin. Dorian on the other hand has to accept how he can love & mate with someone who comes from the race of people who he hates. They both have to learn to let go and accept each other; without losing what & who they are. Nalini Singh does a great job of continuing to build the Psy/Changeling/human world; and it is a fascinating one. The humans were introduced in a bigger way in the previous book with Tally but in this one Nalini starts to explore the concept that they are also out to take advantage of the Psy breakdown. It's a fascinating world that has so many concepts. And Nalini doesn't turn away from exploring some fairly dark subjects - such as what people can do to each other even when they are of the same blood.

Am just finishing this book and am surprised at how much I've liked it. I'd seen the book in our school library, but had never picked it up because ofthe cover (!!!). Than my friend Jennifer recommended it to me, and I'm so glad she did. This has some really gross and really violent details - a kid versus nature - but it's also important to the story. My stomach got kind of sick, but the story kept me going~ Talk about character change... Things to pay attention to: the book's chapters play with time - sometimes there's a flashback, sometimes they skip ahead to 6 months later. The sentence structure is simpler, but some of the vocabulary is not familiar/more difficult.
