I judge a book by how involved I become. I had this book on my mind all the time while I was reading, sleeping, cooking etc. Would I have liked a different story...Yes, but this was a good book.

I'm not sure whether I would have liked it as much had I not actually worked in a British office where our e-mail exchanges sometimes weren't too far from this. This is a fun, silly read sure to make anyone laugh.

The most accessible psychodynamic reference manual currently in print. It provides the historical context of the most commonly seen diagnosis, confronts the shortcomings of the EVT movement, and promotes a conceptual framework that is sympathetic to the concept of overdetermination. My copy is already well worn.

A good start to the series. It served it's purpose; made me want to read the next book. I wanted to get to know more about all of the characters and see how things developed.

I enjoyed this book, although the premise is a bit odd (the whole 'dead bird book'), the back story is interesting and well-written.

** spoiler alert ** When Katniss arrives at 13, I suspected that life at 13 and life after the Capitol was overthrown would be much the same, only labelled differently. The regimented life, the constant surveillance and the politics. It would have been like that should Katniss not have assassinated Coin. Coin was no better than Snow. There were many lessons contained in the whole trilogy. The main one being that oppression always leads to rebellion, whatever form it may take. Katniss was the catalyst for the rebellion and freedom for everyone who survived the revolution. It felt realistic the way Katniss reacted to what happened to her and to each situation she was in. I liked it that she was an accidental hero, one that was truly human not super-human and all-knowing. I was very sad that Finnick died, he was a wonderful character. I liked the touch of giving Finnick and Annie a child. It meant that Finnick's legacy carried on. The whole way through the book I thought that one or all of the trio - Katniss, Gale and Peeta, would die. Thankfuly this was not the case. Gale was always a revolutionary, his heart always belonged to the cause. It was somehow fitting that Katniss ended up with Peeta. Who else knew what she had truly been through during the Hunger Games and the emotional wreckage that resulted? The irony of Katniss stepping in for Prim in the Hunger Games and her death at the end of the rebel fight was not lost on me. In real life noone could forget, noone would come out unscathed and live happily ever after. Peeta would be the only one who could truly comfort her, and she him. They loved each other. The end was as close to happlily ever after as Katniss and Peeta would get, and it was enough.

I could hardly put this book down. The style of writing really resonated with me, as did the themes and questions that make this a very powerful book.
