This book was better than the first one. We are getting to know the characters a little more, and I like to see the personalities unfolding. Lily is a witch that seems to need help from those around her a lot (even though she is supposed to be pretty powerful), and she has several new friends that assist her. She isn't really looking for a man, but they seen to be everywhere and she is very naive when it comes to relationships. I like Max as a person, but I don't think he is right for her and his brother is a hot mess. Sailor is an enigma, but I would love to learn more about him, and Aiden just seems slimy. Maybe, Lily doesn't need a man at all...just Oscar, who is the cutest thing EVER!

As much as the language was beautiful and it exuded extreme literary talent, I simply could not find the patience to withstand the character's own insanity and wait for it all to come to an end. It is an incredibly fascinating portrayal of sick man with a fetish who we can almost even sympathize with, but it's sauciness goes into a decline almost midway through the storyline. Overall, I can appreciate, but not one of my favorites.

An must read for any comic book fan. A great look at how normal super heroes can be, and yet how they never will be truly normal--an idea I've always enjoyed about the genre. The movie offers a good adaption, if very different. Some of the subplots in the novel are boring and unclear as to how they relate to the greater narrative. It's also a ton of back story thanks to "extras" included at the end of each issue. I reccomend you take your time and digest this one slowly.

this book, to me, feels like playing pretend on a huge wonderful scale. it exists in the most real way in the world of imagination. and it is so blissfully long! i don't really want to finish. update: okay but now i did finish, and i was not disappointed. In a lot of ways, I was reminded of Harry Potter in the scope and magnitude and level of imagination and complete definition of an unfamiliar world, except The Children's Hospital soared over all of Harry Potter's weaknesses, and doesn't give you a slightly dirty feeling that you're enjoying it a bit too much. What I found most compelling about the book was the power and beauty of the smallest moments. Things that I had never even articulated feeling are described in such a way that I was sure that the human experience and my own childhood experience is in so many ways universal. These moments were beautiful and tragic and wonderful, making the characters so intimate and real. My only complaint is that the ending was awfully clean and turned the whole journey of the book into something extremely logical and linear. It fit, it definitely fit, but it was almost too tidy. When I finished this book, I opened back up to the first page and started right over again. It was that good.

Gone With The Wind, was a great and challenging read. The main character Scarlett O'Hara is a very stubborn-minded and brave girl. She is faced with many challenges throughout this amazing twisted tale of her life, as she embarks on a journey of life, love, and new encounters as she discovers herself as a character. Gone With the Wind, was quite a hard read,but if you like challenging reads, then Gone With the Wind is a good book for you. No wonder they consider this book a true classic, set in the old times, Gone With the Wind was a truley astounding book.
