This book is funny as Emma tried to be like a ballerina, after Uncle Leo sent her a ballerina outfit. The theme of this book is to "be yourself" like Emma. She danced at the end until she knocked over the fishbowl. I like this book because girls do not always need to be ballerina they can also enjoy other hobbies.

It's a little textbook-like, but if you're looking to think a bit more critically about the way the media covers (and participates) in conflict, this is a pretty good place to start. Contains a good review of previous work in the field, including Chomsky's manufacturing consent model, and the media contest/media culture models, laying out well their strengths and weaknesses. I felt like he gave short shrift to both peace journalism, development journalism, and public journalism; it seemed like he wrote them off as naive without offering alternative methods for trying to achieve the goals for which these movements are working. Nor does he engage with the majority of the work being done in peace journalism. Still worth checking out, though. And I think the term 'mediatized conflict' is useful, if clunky; the idea is that when the media participates in conflict, they aren't simply 'mediating' it for us - just giving us representations - but more frequently actually doing something in the conflict both by being present and by the ways they choose to write about it afterwards.

I was worried the whole time that it wouldn't be an HEA- I kept wondering how the author was gonna make the situation okay but I need not to have worried. I loved the interactions between the characters, the descriptions of Miller's job, the beautiful love scenes. I love it when a book moves me so much and this one did it in spades! Absolutely powerful novel.

A great pre-date book or pre-dinner party book. Seriously. I'm not kidding. See what you can do with the following passage, among others: "...lust is associated primarily with estrogen and androgens. Attraction, however is associated with elation and a craveing for emotional union, which may be linked to the monoamines such as serotonin. The Neurotransmitters associated with long-term attachment--a behavior evidenced by close body contact, separation anxiety, and a sense of calm, security, and peace with a partner--have been harder to find (mostly oxytocin)..."
