tHIS IS a beautiflly written and odd story A rich boy from Ne Yor whose mothre (or is she) takes him away to live in Australia I find Peter Carey high on characters and dialogue and setting and well flow, but not really sure at the end of the day I could tell you what this book was about or if it ended happilly or not.

I didn't like book, but I got the series at Wal-Mart for under $10-- didn't know anything about the series when I bought it; was just desperate for something to read. It's youth literature about a girl who gets interested in Wicca...Anyway, I suppose I'll read the rest of the series since I bought them and they're fast reads, but I wouldn't recommend them; not very interesting, too many characters, overall kinda corny and boring.

Not exactly light reading, the main point being that we are not prepared for the physical reality of old age--ours, or our loved ones. It is an important subject, but the book is over long.

love the easy flowing dialogue in the book. the uneasiness the author/adventure faces and after being completely frustrated in starting and working on his set agenda he serendipitously stumbles upon another road less traveled that is feeling quite right.

Another really good story from Jet Mykles. And like the cover, here we have an "yaoi" style story. Aaron is a shy man, an IT geek with social problems: among people he feels unconfortable, but people don't let him quite... cause he is beautiful! He has wonderful red hair and bright green eyes. So when he goes to Yoshiki's office, the VP of the firm, for an IT problem, the man sees him and wants him and he don't stop in front of nothing to have what he wants. Yoshiki, Ki, his a quarter japanese and three quarter american. He loves women and men: the heat is the only thing that count. And he feels heat between him and Aaron. But Aaron is very shy: he is not only virgin to gay love, he his virgin at all... so Ki must convince him that it will be good and then, that it will be last. In this romance we have all the element of the yaoi romance: beauty and young characters, a stronger one with a shy one, also the trick with the hair, during a steamy sex session... It is a fast and satisfyng reading: one only weak point... I hate Rachel!!! But you have to read it to know why! http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/35...

This book contains simple out lines of the lives of some influential believers from the 1900’s. It is not your typical detail filled book about the dates and incidents in their lives. It is well written, easy to follow and the information given about each person is pertinent. Some of the people written about are: Billy Sunday, William Joseph Seymour and Oral Roberts. Each short biography is filled with ways the Lord led them and their families. You will be encouraged as you see how their reliance on the Lord led them to greatly influence the evangelism of their time. One I particularly enjoyed was the chapter on Kathryn Johanna Kuhlman. I found her continued work for the Lord even after hard personal times an example of how the Lord is always with those who want to serve him. She taught that winning a soul to Christ should be our greatest mission in life. She also said that if you don’t feel the Lord’s direction in your life to just sit for awhile and don’t rush ahead into something without his blessing. She left hours of radio devotionals and numerous books behind to encourage those after her to keep on sharing His Word. You don’t have to be someone who loves church history or missions to enjoy this book. I think everyone can learn something from the lives of these great servants of the Lord. One of the only negatives I had about the book was the small print! I received a complimentary copy of Evangelism In The 1900’s as a member of the Dorrance Publishing Book Review Team. This book was nothing like I expected it to be. I read the other four when I was younger, and I picked this one up merely because I wanted to finish the series. At first, I did not like the book at all. It was depressing, and I hated seeing these four go through such hard times. But alas, I was on a long car ride and had nothing else to read. So I trudged on. About half way through, probably a little less than, the story really started to pick up. From that point on I could not put the book down and continued to read it, even when we arrived at our destination. I really loved the way Brashares was able to make you feel exactly like the girls did. My heart really went out for them, and I will admit, I did tear up a few times. All together, I would say this was a fantastic end to a great series.
