I loved the characters in this book. They were all very unique and well-developed. However, I felt that the book suffered a bit from the perspective from which the author chose to tell the story. I was not impressed by the main character Lily. Particularly towards the end, when all of the revelations were coming one on top of the other and there was no time to absorb each drama, I felt more inclined to judge her for being whiny and childish than to sympathize with her.

Very very funny. So much better than the movie (which was good, but, as so often with adaptations, was nowhere near the book.) Danny's life takes a turn for the bizarre when he decides to say "yes" to everything, and it's as funny as it is strange. It is remarkable how his life changes, in all areas, as he embraces positivity, regardless of the consequences. And it's good of him to take us with him on this journey as we are in turn entertained, tickled, and shocked by some of the things he agrees to. A good book for a relaxing holiday, as you'll want to finish it quickly!

Could not put this book down! Not for everybody, it's the true story of Aron Ralston, who was trapped by a boulder in a slot canyon in Utah. There are some grizzly parts. But if you like adventure / survival stories, this is a good one. Well written, detail-oriented, but never dull.

I'd heard for years how unreadable this one is... but it's not that hard. I suppose it's a rough start, but hey, if you have a Trans-Pacific flight and can't sleep, it breezes by. The characters are so consistently compelling... Quentin, Caddy, Benji, Dilsey, they're as well laid out as in As I Lay Dying, but with the added bonus of weird time-warps and fucked up Southern incest.

I think this actually has been my favorite so far. One thing is for sure, I hate Jacob. I realize that the author has to make some sort of conflict for her and Edward, but she has made it clear that her and Edward are supposed to be together, period. Which is why Jacob makes me so angry. He is selfish, immature, and obviously doesn't love her as much as Edward. He's manipulative, and when he threatened to kill himself if she didn't ask him to kiss her I wanted to throw the book against the wall. Especially after just having that long discussion with Edward, he saw how much Edward really cared about her. Even though Edward was jealous and a little threatened by Jacob, he allowed Bella to make the decision without any interference. That proves he loves her much more than Jacob who fought dirty the whole book. I was mad at Bella for not staying angry at him and not cutting him out of her life. I'm glad Jacob ran away I hope I never read about him anymore(I know he is a part of the 4th though). I'm also glad that Bella is finally starting to actually think about what it will mean to be a vampire. She was so stubborn in the first 2 that it was annoying that she didn't think about it at all. I'm glad she has matured enough to think through different angles of what she will lose and be missing. I'm glad they are waiting until they get married to have sex. I'm really curious to see what it will be like with her as a vampire. She must have special talents because of her ability to evade Jane and Edward's talent. As well as her whole hating blood thing.

Don't you just love it when you feel a little smarter after reading a book (not including textbooks or non-fiction)?!?! This is a great read. You definately want to take your time to really absorb it all. She writes like she really knows her subjects and inspired me to do a little post-read research.
