http://angelerin.blogspot.com/2016/03... I don't really know what I could say about this book that hasn't already been said. I think this is one that a lot of people read while in high school. I didn't read it in high school like a lot of other classics because my sophomore year I stopped going to public high school and did home school. I ended up graduating a year early and that was great, but I sure did miss out on some classics I would have loved to read at school. Like this one! Of Mice and Men is a great classic book. It's super short, the writing is superb, and the story is emotional. There is something about Steinbeck's writing that just really made this story. This book could have easily been a throw away novel, a piece of garbage, but the words chosen just really make this book for me. Another thing I enjoyed is the connection I had with Lennie and George. Now I'm not saying I LIKED them, but I FELT for them and sometimes that is more important. I really did feel bad for both Lennie and George. Overall I really liked Of Mice and Men. There is so much impact in such a short story and I love books like that. My husband has been telling me for years to read this one and I just never have. I'm glad I finally did and thanks to my local library sale last year I got this book for like $0.50! I recommend Of Mice and Men for anyone looking for a short read, anyone willing to give a classic a try, and for fans of Flowers for Algernon.

I had already read this one as a teenager and all I remember was the first chapter. It's a great holiday read, but I was surprised at the weakness of the plot. It is possible to write comedy with better plots, as others like Pratchett and, in a way, Neil Gaiman, have proved. But then, I don't think there would have been a Pratchett at all (or a funny Gaiman) without Adams first.

"Realismo sucio" o más bien escatológico, cercano a la pornografía de más baja estofa. Violento, casi repulsivo... No obstante, hay un destello de lucidez en tanta amargura forzada.

Reprints Wolverine (Limited Series) #1-4 (September 1982-December 1982). Wolverine travels to Japan to learn his former lover Mariko is trapped in an arrange marriage to an abusive husband and her father’s criminal empire is growing. Wolverine is saved by a mysterious woman named Yukio and fights to free Mariko and bring down Lord Shingen. When Wolverine’s friend Anso Kimura is killed, Wolverine is not only trying to save his love, he’s seeking revenge! Written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Frank Miller, Wolverine was one of Marvel Comics earlier forays into graphic novels and became another crossover graphic novel of the ’80s being sold in regular bookstores. The series was well received and has been collected multiple times sometimes including Uncanny X-Men (1) #172-173 (August 1982-September 1982) which followed the events of the series. The Wolverine (Limited Series) was also collected in The Best of Wolverine Volume 1 and Wolverine Omnibus Volume 1 which also included many other early Wolverine appearances. Wolverine was an interesting creation and after a few “solo” appearances in Uncanny X-Men quickly gained a fan base. His earliest appearance in a cameo in Incredible Hulk (2) #180 and first full appearance in Incredible Hulk (2) #181 (October 1974-November 1974) became some of the most sought out comics by collectors. This series gave the character more backstory and allowed the X-Man to cut loose and be a bit more savage without his teammates. Wolverine is a fun story that feels a lot slower paced than the Uncanny X-Men stories at the time. Claremont really spends some time developing Wolverine’s character here and the story often dissolves into Wolverine’s internal debate. It is nice to see the “origin-less” Wolverine and I do prefer the Wolverine of mystery rather than the fleshed out Wolverine of today. The comic is also aided by Frank Miller who just starting to peak in his career. Daredevil was making him a star and The Dark Knight Returns was still in the future. At this point, his art wasn’t as edgy as later on, but it is still solid and the subject matter (which included some of his favorite recurring themes…ninjas, the Hand, and Japan) were perfect for his style. Wolverine is a must read for comic fans, but also is worth checking out if you are a fair-weather fan. It is a great example of the evolution of comic books and how comics transformed from something for kids and became something more. The limited series was also used as a basis for the 2013 film The Wolverine.

Very interesting book that shows how you think and feel differently than your spouse, so you each expect different things from your relationship.

Over 300 pages of diary like essays/short stories from a Pathetic, self Obsessed, racist gay man(even though I love gay men..he really was an insult to all gay persons)& his rants about how he dabbled in drugs & drinks heavily. If you want to read about a neurotic jerk & financially support a creepy Nerd then buy this book! I hated it & was offended to a point ~I wished I could met him just to slap his delusional ugly face! The fact that this book was EVER a best seller in the USA makes me wonder how screwed up the masses have become to enjoy this kind of twisted, whining & complaining bitch-feast from a total looser ...as entertainment. One word to some up this trash heap of a novel......ANNOYING!!!!!!

An excellent time travel tale from the author of The Doomsday Book. This book is really just the first half of a story to be completed in All Clear, which I am currently reading. For those unfamiliar with Connie Willis' time travel books, they follow a group of Oxford historians from the year 2060 as they use time travel to directly observe the past. This time the focus is on one of the most heroic eras of modern history, when a tiny island nation faced the might of Hitler's military machine alone. The "phoney war", the heroic rescue of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk, the evacuation of children from London to the countryside, and the Blitz are all being studied by historians from 2060. Something has gone seriously wrong, however, as they are unable to reestablish contact with 2060 Oxford. The historians find themselves trapped in the past, and wondering if some action they've taken has changed the course of history. The laws of time travel were thought to prevent historians from affecting the course of history at critical divergence points. Now, this is in serious doubt. I'll reserve a really detailed review until I've finished All Clear, but I recommend this book whole-heartedly to both science fiction fans and the general reader. If you don't like SF, give this book a try. It's a moving tribute to those ordinary citizens of Britain of whom we now say 'This was their finest hour.'
