Yep, this was the one that did it for me. One of those books that changed my life. I read this when I was fifteen years old, and let's just say, didn't have much interest in science or really much to do with academics, up until this point. But when someone writes about science in such a poetic way as Mr. Sagan does, how do you not instantly fall in love with the subject? "We are all made of star stuff" he writes, and then goes on to explain in scientific terms exactly what this means. This is not just a book about astronomy, it is a book about all of science, discovery, and enlightenment. I've read it countless times, and will continue to read it.

The story of Naomi and her brother, who have been raised by their great grandmother after being deserted by their mother. When their mom returns 7 years later, they soon realize that she doesn't have their best interests in mind, and they may just have to escape from her. I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. The story was sweet and sad, and well written.

I've been waiting for the new book in this series, but I was already worried when I saw how thick it was. Then I read it, and it reminded me of last season of the X Files. There was no characterization left, even of the awesomely cute dragons who are brimming with personality; there was practically no plot left, if by plot you mean that the characters actually do things and don't just discover vague forebodings. If a character in this book ate toast, it would be Cosmic Toast With Vague Forebodings Of Universal New-Age Import. I agree with the reviewer who said to stop at the first book in this series and treat it like a good stand-alone, which it really is. Somehow the story has just gotten lost (or too Cosmic) along the way.

I loved it!Reading about Adrian never gets boring!It only made me want Bloodlines even more.Although i hoped Rose would be the one showing up, Jill was kind of a pleasant surpise!She is always sweet and shy and i think she acts really cute around Adrian.Even though i wish we could get more from Adrian's POV,i'm not complaining!These eight pages were a masterpiece!
