I enjoyed this book. It was a fast read for fun. I reminded me a lot of your traditional zombie movie plot about surviving in the chaos. It did make a me a little cell phone paranoid. I really loved how at the end of the book it says Stephen Kind doesn't own a cell phone.

i am not really sure about this book. i didn't really like it until i was towards the end, but it left me dissatisfied. i did not like the main character, but i liked the sex stuff and the backstabbing. But mostly i was irritated. i read in the notes that she was writing a sequel, and i would read it, i suppose i am a glutton for punishment.

It was nice to return to these characters, even though Danny's heart is broken as the first murder victim is an old girlfriend. Danny Boyle, and his senior officer, John Ceepak, are in Atlantic City for a deposition. As the deposition is delayed, they go to a magic show, and the magic ends as the show does. There are multiple deaths, magic tricks are unveiled, and the ugly side of the performing arts are revealed. What I was disappointed about with this entry in the series was the sexual content--it was all crime related, but more descriptive than Mr. Grabenstein has been in previous novels. I recommend this series along with his tween series to young people as a librarian, and while most teens would probably take it all in stride, I might occasionally not recommend this adult mystery series to certain teens.

Yeah, I know I have read this one before. But now I'm raiding Borders (as they are closing their doors, and selling at fairly decent discounts), and this series shall be mine! Well, as much as I can afford anyway. I love how there were colored images in this, as well as they keeping the commentary. Let's face it, it's tough to mess this up. I just hope I can stomach not having the entire series for a while. hahah!

This book was suggested to me by one of my sixth grade students and although I LOVED the book, I believe the content is too mature for middle schoolers. Written from the perspective of two students at the same time, this book was unlike any I have other read and although heavy in content, I believe high schoolers could learn something from this novel.
