OK - now that I've read all of Jane Austen - novels, novella's and short stories - I can honestly say that Emma, Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion are my favorites. There was only one scene which I hated, and Austen seems to have these a lot in her novels, which are the big long scenes where someone is relaying everything that happened that the reader didn't see as to give them knowledge and insight into their motive (which spells big fat boring to me). Other than that, it was an excellent read and for Jane Austen fans, it will not disappoint.

I thought The Orchid Affair was delightfully entertaining! The characters are quite unique and I really enjoy historical fiction. Ms. Willig is a new-to-me author and I understand this is an on-going series. I'd be interested in going back to the beginning and starting with the first book in the series. I always enjoy it when a series continues because you can relate with it so well.

** spoiler alert ** Legacy series 1 of ? Not knowing the projected length of this is certainly a handicap. Also, a bit worried on where they plan to take Rodney. Eventual rescue? Recovery? Being distrusted by everyone on Atlantis? Ugh. Unable to return. Sent away. Ye plot gods, no. They wouldn't! Would they? Just worried how this will play out and be resolved. Love Sam's characterization. Spot on. Hate Teyla and Sheppard together. No thank you. Don't want. In the least. Hate the politics and this pervasive attitude that bureaucracy and power plays are more important that lives and this team. That is so not what this show is/was about.

I must be one in a million. It seems like everyone who reads this book LOVES IT! I mean LOVES IT!! It's normally in their Favorites or at least in the Best Books Read in (insert year). That is why I wanted to read it. .... or might I say LISTEN to it. I wanted to see what the hype was all about. I figured since it was a short listen/read it would probably be fabulous... for I am one of those people who get excited over short books and movies. They tend to hold my attentionspan. But "Stolen" didn't. The only thing I can think of is the way that it was told... in letter form. At first, I had no idea it was a letter. Yeah, I'm observant... it's in the title!! But after a while you figure it out... or at least you think it might be a diary. But I just didn't dig it. I found it kinda bland and boring. I kept wanting to nod off and take a nap (which is a big NO NO because all audiobooks are listened to during turtle walks). I kept having to stir myself awake. Had this have been a paperback that I picked up, I probably would have flopped it. I know that I would have found myself curled up on the couch. Now, I'm not saying that this is a bad book. I did think that the ending was fabulous and I rather enjoyed all the animals. And I learned when you go to Australia you should wear boots in order to protect yourself from snakes. I also learned that they have packs of wild camels there. At least where this story takes place. I rather enjoy captor stories... this just wasn't my spot of tea..or coffee... or Hugh Jackman... one of those has to be Australian ;) It would make for a really good movie, though!

The Treasure Map of Boys is a quirky and hilarious look at High School student Ruby Oliver's daily trials and tribulations, which includes boys, old and new friends, a bake sale, therapy, and a great dane named Polka-dot. I've always been a fan of this series, so I was super excited to get a copy of this before it was released. Ruby is one of the funniest characters I've ever encountered, and I love reading everything she has to say. However, this wasn't my favorite book in the series. Ruby, overall, seemed indecisive and even at some points annoying. Gladly, though, there was a lot more in this book that I liked than disliked. As always, the cliffnotes add a unique twist to the story. Plus, I loved reading more about Ruby's friendships with both Hutch and Meghan. And I hope to see more of that in the future if the books continue. E. Lockhart again weaves undeniable comedy with heartfelt emotion in the third book in the popular Ruby Oliver series. I would recommend this to anyone who has read the previous two books in the series, and to everyone else I recommend the first book (The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart)
