I am working on this plan now. I end on Oct. 31. I hope that I can stick with it. Was an inspirational book for eating well and taking care of myself.

JPII's brilliance in penetrating the depths of human love to reveal a reflection of Divine love shines forth in this work - he describes in no small detail the kind of love we are all called to live and breathe...one that requires immense courage, self-giving, and generosity, in the face of one's own frailties, scars and traumas. I learned a lot about how to translate my love for God into a practical and full-hearted love for His people, particularly the ones I meet on my own path Home.

This book is an instance of delicious fiction. There are places in the plot where the author could have done much more to make her story believable, but the prose sparkles. I love the alternation between past and present, the way the viewpoints of the two sisters intertwine. It's a little heartwrenching, a little amateurish, a lot of fun. First book I devoured in awhile.

Why is "It's not the end of the world" pictured here instead of "Deenie" that I selected? I have no idea. "Deenie" was great for me as a teen as I was going through a scoliosis diagnosis also. All of Blume's books are incredible. I also loved "Are you there God? It's me, Margaret"

This practical and inspirational book, suggested by a particularly down-to-earth and realistic friend in my book club, really changed my house a few years ago. Motivated by the author's claim that too much clutter in one's living environnment can sap valuable energy and impede creativity and productivity, I cleared away a lot of junk that was scattered here and there in my house, garage, and office. I may have thrown out a little too much at one time, then chickened out and kept too much another time. However, my living environment benefited so much from this fascinating Asian philosophy of Feng Shui that I immediate began reading more about it. I particularly like the philosophy that hanging on to too much stuff because we "think we may need it someday" shows our lack of faith in the benevolent energies of the universe to provide us with what we need when we need it. When it comes to Feng Shui, clearing clutter is probably the best way to begin. From there, one can tackle the more complex tenets of how to reconcile water, wind, wood, fire and metal placement in the home. In short, Feng Shui is a fascinating philosophy for better living, and this short, sensible book is a great place to start learning how to benefit from it.

The Mulvaneys had everything: an idyllic life on a farm in upstate New York, four intelligent healthy kids, a prosperous business which earned them the respect of their neighbors. Then, on her prom night, a tragedy befalls their daughter Marianne and things are never the same. Oates draws in the reader with myriad details about the inner turmoil of her characters. She's one of my favorite novelists and this book does nothing to discourage that assessment. Highly recommended.

seems like just another "going back to India and being poignant about it" book but I'll try and keep an open mind.

Jace, who is now a servant of evil, is bound to Sebastian. This means that Sebastian can't be killed without killing Jace too. Simon, Izzy, Alec, and Magnus are all trying to find ways that Jace might be saved, but Clary is desperate. She takes matters into her own hands, and forms a dangerous plan; one that just might take her life and Jace's soul. I was not very pleased with the last book of the Mortal Instruments series. There was so much teenage angst I couldn't stand it. Clary and Jace fought so much, and it got really old. This one, thankfully, was better. I still didn't like Jace and Clary's relationship, but it wasn't as aggravating. Everything else was great. I love Simon and Izzy, the storyline progressed really well, and the ending perfectly set up the next book. Overall, a great addition to the Mortal Instruments. I highly recommend this series! CONTENT: Implied sex and kissing. Everything else is the same as the rest of the series.

No where near as good as The Straw Men triology. This has a strange ending. Not an interesting ending, just a strange one.
