This is the first book to make me cry and probably one of the few. I love the story and its completeness. I wasn't left wondering at the end about their future. I even like the book more than the movie, but still I cried for both. Noah is a keeper and he makes the story feel real, because everything has its ups and downs.

There were so many things I loved about this book: the unique plot, the shifting between modern day and ancient Wales, the folktale undertones, the heavy use of bardic music... I adore urban fantasy and historical fantasy. This was the best of both worlds.

Interesting book showing a different side of the Jefferson we all were been presented in school. After reading about John Adams, I grew fascinated by their relationship. The Character of Thomas Jefferson was certainly flawed in many ways. A southern gentleman who struggled with the founding fathers about slavery, wanting all men to be free, owned over 200 slaves. He politicked openly about how the races should not mix, yet fathered at least one child with one of his slaves. And, the politics be played back in the late 18th and early 19th century make the early 21st century politics look like Kingergarten. In fairness, he brought many good new concepts and ideas that helped form this nation. The book is an excellent read for someone who is not only interested in the history of the period, but wants to learn more about Jefferson the man.

Lovely and sweet--beautiful pictures, perfect for both fairly young readers and "older girls" without the heart to grow up. Could not find a single thing not to like...except, there are far too many bugs. Aphids, spiders, wasps. I swear, I thought I was back in my very first Summer Reading program trying to explain to my pre-Ks why all insects are part of the life cycle and therefore significant...blah, blah, blah, when really they are all disgusting, soul-less non-creatures whose only purpose is to skeeve me out and/or bite me.
