The author outclass this story the hilarity, and descriptive words of the teenager named Holden. The authors narrative, and funny used of words I laughed the whole time I was reading this book. Holden, was a teenager age of 16 years who's trying to find out life on his own way. A typical teenager with full of devilish idea, and wanting to be different......just be contented his life by catching on the rye. Holden's fantasy; He tells her (Phoebe) his fantasy of being “the catcher in the rye,” a person who catches little children as they are about to fall off of a cliff. Phoebe tells him that he has misremembered the poem that he took the image from: Robert Burns’s poem says “if a body meet a body, coming through the rye,” not “catch a body.”

The younger girl was murdered, while the older sister managed to survive being thrown off a bridge. The story follows the aftermath which ends up with the older woman, years later dying at the same bridge (accidental fall? suicide?). It is very depressing, but a good insightful read about a true crime.

A great book for anybody who has an interest in Russian history but isn't quite sure where to begin. I only recommend it if you a) know nothing about Russian history, and b) are a history buff. Otherwise, this book will collect dust on your bookshelf. It can be a bit dry, but also somewhat entertaining if you have an imagination.

I used to see everyone reading this book on the train and resisted jumping on that ban wagon but Kite Runner was worth it. The prose was beautiful, the story is sad but you have to keep reading. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a well crafted fiction.
