This was the finale to the Elite Ops series and Jordan and Tehya's story. I really liked this one for the burning sexual tension between the two and amazingly hot scenes. Tehya's past is about to catch up with her. Jordan and the entire Elite Ops team comes to her rescue. This is really how a finale book should be written, with multiple appearances by all the characters we've read about as well as Jordan's father. The suspense story wasn't all that suspenseful, but I loved the couple so much I didn't really care.

An amazing account of the great plague of 1665 in London. The book made me feel like I was there and watching my friends and neighbors die of the plague.

I listened to the audio and recommend it--different actors for the three main voices.

This is a big book which could have been a bit shorter; I'm beginning to get a bit tired of these characters. In this book, Kay investigates the murder of an achondroplastic dwarf woman; perhaps more complex plotting than needed and too many references to things which have happened in previus stories without explanation for those of us who don't rmemmber every detail of every book we read.

read a longer review at my blog liberal sprinkles I liked the book but I thought I'd get more out of it. I picked it up because of the author. I've admired Zamrlza's work for a while now and thought I'd see more binding methods in the book, but those featured here are mostly limited to variations of the Japanese four-hold binding and other stab bindings (this is indicated in the book blurb but I didn't see past the name). The pluses: the book is beautifully photographed; the projects are easy and great for beginners; the author is very creative in coming up with ideas for books that can be made with things that can be found in most homes. Among the projects: a book with a sock for cover; a place card which simply involves folding a sheet of paper into an accordion; a travel photo album; a souvenir book made of coin envelopes and bound with map paper. Many of these projects are so easy or can be completed in less than half an hour - a great way to make yourself or someone a quick and pretty gift, or have a fun afternoon crafting with kids. The book is laid out in the style of Japanese craft books: with photos of the projects in the front, and the instructions in the back of the book. Even the styling of the photos is rather Japanese - it all looks very attractive.

Although I had a bit of trouble getting into this book, there was something that kept me reading and I was glad that I did. The setting is 6 years after WWI in England. The main character, Evelyn Gifford, is a young woman lawyer, trying to make her way in a hostile man's world of law, while still grieving the death of her brother in the war, and dealing with her immediate family and a woman who unexpectedly shows up with her dead brother's child. Employed by a reputable law firm Evelyn is involved with 2 cases which become vehicles to her growth as an independent woman, making her way in a profession not friendly to women. I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it.

This book started slowly for me, but really picked up momentum as it went. Even about a third of the way through I couldn't figure out why it was considered a "classic," but by the end I couldn't believe how engrossed I was in a novel about wild rabbits.
