I read this book in high school and don't know if I fully understood what all was going on at the time. Would like to give it another go since so many people seem to love it.

Fantastic art, clever and inventive, weaving many literary traditions and characters together into a cohesive, satisfying story.

I've had this book for a number of years now, but never got the motivation to read it. Mayve now that it's on a list I might finally get to it.

I chose this to read when I flew to Florida last year. It's the perfect book for anyone who owns all the Buffy seasons but still watches it on T.V. My only complaint is her misinterpretation of the first turning of Angel into Angelus...we can discuss after you've read it. She goes into the symbolism of the show and the ties to other fantasy series. I loved it.

Absolutely enjoyable. I especially liked the setting - India under British colonial rule was an interesting mix of East and West. A fast and fun read.

This review is only for stories by Lora Leigh, Eileen Wilks, and Kimberly Frost. Leigh's story set in the breed world was a great one with Malachi, who we haven't seen too much before. I loved how he knew right away what was going on, but tried to put business first. I also loved how Isabelle stood up to her family for him. I think the new alliance will bring about some interesting things. My one big beef with this story is that this book is set after Lawe's Justice, but not numbered that way and it even is published before it. Had I known that I would have waited to read it. Eileen Wilks' story dealt with Benedict and Arjenie. Benedict has always been one of my favorite characters so I was so happy to get to know more about him. The two of them spend time with Arjenie's family for Yule. Things don't go great as her family is Wiccan and have issues with the changes that being Benedict's chosen has wrought. When the sheriff stops by to ask for help Benedict steps in to help, by doing so he wins them all over. Kimberly Frost's story is one that sets up a new series, one that is different from what I have read and makes me really excited for the first book, All That Bleeds.

I started reading the Maximum Ride series very recently, and I was really impressed with Patterson's writing skills. But, this book was a let down for me. I expected a lot more. My friends who have completed the series had told me it was a pretty bad book, saying things like 'Patterson had a cinder block dropped on his head before writing this.', etc. At first, I doubted it. But, now that I've finished reading it, I see what they meant. Patterson put his worries for global warming before what the book should have been about; Max & the flock. It was extremely opinionated, and that bothered me.

Four and a quarter stars. I liked this book, particularly the suspense plot, and the glimpses into Edwardian life and life at Cambridge. I also like the two main characters - Orlando and Jonty. They're human, and flawed. I did get a little lost at the beginning of the book with each character's internal thoughts - it took me a while to work out that they were an internal monologue rather than speech without quote marks and who was saying them. If I had to pinpoint a negative it would be that I feel like I didn't get enough in depth insight into what Orlando and Jonty were thinking and so felt slightly disconnected from their developing relationship. And, maybe this is me, but...I did feel that Orlando was...more accepting of his attractive to a man than I'd thought he'd be given how he was raised and the time period the book was set in. Saying that, I did like how there were places where he made a conscious decision to ignore those teachings and society's opinion and move forward in the relationship. I also got a little bit lost with the characters' internal thoughts at the beginning of the book - it took me a while to work out that they were an internal monologue (versus speech) and who was saving them. Will I read the second book? Definitely!

Lora Leigh confirmed my faith in her to write a love story that fascinates me. Thank you, Lora!

This is an awesome little book. It was written by a professor that I know at NYU-in-Paris. The book is very simple and very dark. It is an easy read in French if you aren't very experienced with the language. I really appreciated that Morin could evoke such feeling in such simple language.
