After I finished this book I stayed up a little longer trying to figure out what I would write. I have nothing. Go read some of the following review: Lucy, Ukrainer, Sierra, and Denys LH. They were able to articulate my thoughts and feelings on this one. I would say I liked this one more than book 2 maybe because I like Jacob's character but I felt like this book just dragged on needlessly. I am ready to kick Edward to the curb - I find him annoying and manipulative. I don't feel the love between them and I don't understand the pull she has with him after all her "discoveries" about Jacob. Although I could argue that maybe that is just it, haven't most of us been in a crappy relationship and we were the last to notice? I am now off to book four so I can end this addiction and then get back to some more worthy literature.

It was okay. I finally got around to reading, and then discovered that the books lost most of their appeal when Rose left campus and Dimitri went Strigoi. Once again, Rose is saving Lissa (so what else is new?), Lissa has no idea what Rose is suffering through, Lissa does something stupid, Rose finds something she loves and leaves it, and it's this whole story about death, idiocy, pain, loss, love, the occasional idiot, etc. Blah, blah, blah.

I was a little disappointed with this one, especially since I loved the first book so much. After all the suspense that was built up in the first book, this one felt anticlimactic - it felt so much like nothing was really happening. Also, the whole thing with Dimitri sort of grated on my nerves after awhile since it started to feel overdone...although I do like him better than James, who mostly just seems lifeless to me. Hopefully the next book is better.
