My senior research project for school is to look at the historical role of the outlaw hero as a symbol of hope for the oppressed. With that in mind, I would have to say that Seal does a very good job laying out the framework for what is the archetypal outlaw hero and chooses some very good examples from the three countries that he studies. I found the book interesting and engaging as well as being written in a fairly straightforward and easy to read manner, something that doesn't happen usually in academic books. Any scholar of history, literature, folklore, and possibly even politics should pick this book up.

In Exile the adventures of Dizzt Do'Urden continue as he tries to find a place in the world. It is a dark tale as Drizzt tries to live and find a place away from the place of his birth. As in Homeland, there is action as well as moral reflection as Drizzt tries to reconcile his beliefs with survival. While it is imperative that Homeland be read first, this is a worthy sequel though darker in tone. If you liked Homeland, I believe you will like Exile.

Percy is the son of Poseidon and a mortal woman. Well written but clearly influenced by Harry Potter. Niee use of Greek mythology although the movie version was a travesty. Percy is sent on a quest to recover the lightning bolt of Zeus but must battle the folks who stole it in the first place to get it and return it before time runs out.
