I was sort of confused at parts in this book. At first, thinking it was about Psychics... then finding out Vampires & Werewolves were part of Cook's Universe. Although in the end, my overall rating would probably be a little less than a 4 star, I still rounded up. I think there was a little too much going on for my liking. I wish she would have condensed some of her ideas... or made this 2 different novels. I am not really sure.

Again this book has its faults and some may not fully understand why this was writen and who it is for. this does not call for you to put up walls whenever you feel like it. this is telling you to learn to respect yourself and show others how to respect you.

This book was a little hard to read for any length of time...The writing is pretty much cut & dry. But it IS filled with great information, a lot of subject which other books fail to touch on.

i mean, it's no "my name is asher lev" or anything, but it was pretty good. a casting note: the main character should be played by the guy who was paul phifer.

Lights out addresses the subject of the harm Americans are doing to their health by sleeping too little, sleeping in incomplete darkness, and eating as if summer went on all year long. It is not a pretty picture. Because the body is complex, it is also a rather complex picture. The authors give a great deal of scientific evidence to back up their assertions (half the book is bibliography) and they make a good case for getting more sleep in a well-darkened room. My strongest reason for not giving this book more stars is that I did not feel after reading it that I had any kind of idea of how long it might take to correct the damage done by chronic sleeplessness or what changes might be expected in one's health. Still, lack of sleep seems to be a subject to which little or no attention has been given, and as sleep is vital to our well being, the book fills a previously neglected niche.

This was my copy. Has been recycled. Very good. Concise and practical and well backed by Scripture. Especially liked the servanthood and endurance chapters.

Tom Rachman is an English/Canadian journalist who has worked for international newspapers all over the world. As such, he chose to write his first novel about the workings inside the headquarters of an international newspaper based in Rome. The book basically consists of a lot of short stories, centered on key people working for the newspaper, with some interludes to keep the main plot going. It's quite an interesting idea to build a story this way, and a clever way as well, since the reader might treat every chapter as a story of its own and will therefore have no problem in reading the book over the course of a few weeks or even months. Plus, if one character is annoying as hell, there's always the promise that at the end of the chapter you'll be mostly done with him. The fact that none of the characters are perfect (just as the title suggests) but all portrayed in a very human way means that the reader can relate to (almost) everybody in one way or another. At the very least you will have met people like the ones described. The main plot is also rather intriguing, even if it only starts developing about halfway through the book. I didn't expect it to end like it did but maybe there was no other possible ending for that kind of story. Without wanting to spoil anything I can't say much more but it should give rise to interesting discussions afterwards. This certainly is no book if you're looking for romance and walking off into the sunset, but it provides studies of genuine characters and does it exactly what it says on the cover. Also, even though I tend not to believe the review quotes on the back, this is a case where I'd sign every single one of them. Plus, can I just say that I love short stories! 4.5/5 stars ... decided to round up ;).

The story of how Los Angeles was built. I don't want to give away all of the ending, but LA turned into a big city.

Just Grace Goes Green, Harper'ın bölüm kitaplarındaki dördüncü kitap.
