What annoyed me about this book is that the subtitle: Real Women Write About Real Sex is somewhat misleading. The essays aren't all real! I honestly can't even remember a piece that I read. Pretty disappointing, to be honest.

This was amazing. This was the first book I've ever read by Spark, and I now want to read his other books. The story captured me, right from the beginning. It is set in a small town in North Carolina, and traces the flashback of 57 year old Landon to when he was 17. It all started when he became student body president, and needed a date for the Homecoming dance they organized. Due to the fact that no girls other than nerds could come with him, he ended up taking Jamie to the dance. She was the preachers daughter, and even though the two family lines weren't friendly, Landon managed to fall for Jamie anyway. The last three chapters made me sob, and I recommend this book as a good read whenever you just need to cry.

Well it started off kinda slow and for the first chapter all I thought was that this was a Hunger Games wannabe. I was so wrong. I see the similarities to Hunger Games but it breaks off into another direction. I really enjoyed this book, I was on edge for most of it.
