I love how badass this heroine is. She doesn't take attitude from any of the characters, especially the hero. But she doesn't ride rough-shoes over him, either. She's sensitive to his past hurts. Sherri does a great job of showing the conflict in the hero. He doesn't want to torture people, he's been tortured. But he's trying to avoid being tortured again. Read this in a couple of hours. Epic goodness. Highly recommend.

Tractatus gave me a dull, achy throbbing behind my eyes. I have to admit most of it is beyond me. I made attempts to research the sudden downpour of terms, but even wikipedia was no help. I flashed back to my struggles with Baudrillard and his nonsense. He does appear to be pretty pompous when he makes adjustments to Russell's and Frege's work. Thankfully, by the fourth of seven points, I began to grasp a little of his thinking, though I may never understand what's going on with those formulas. Though many agree that the overall concept is blurry and flawed (even the author recanted much of it later), I steadily got the impression that it was genius nonetheless. Even if it's virtually incomprehensible to a readership not versed in his terminology, plugging away through it can't hurt. There are moments of lucidity that even apply to everyday reasoning. I feel like I should come back to it someday.
