I admire Mona for her perseverance through a difficult life and her dedication to the Bloodstone, but sometimes I want to hit her over the head with it (that is, if they can ever find it). Sir Patrick is like his brothers, handsome and troubled, but with more skeletons in his closet than the others. The conclusion of the novel was satisfying and wrapped up the search for the Bloodstone nicely.

First of all can I say that I just love Six! I mean shes just the kicking-butt and taking names kinda girl. So in this second book, Four is learning to deal with life on the run without Henri. Hes having to make hard life and death choices everyday. Hes also coming into his powers and understanding himself. Six, Four, and Sam are not the only characters in this book, your gonna meet more Loriens and get a better understanding of the past. This was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read whats gonna happen next.

I enjoyed Briony's voice and even Rose's. Alabaster twins, blond, and fair with dark, dark brown eyes. Briony is cleaver and capable, Rose is strange, prickly and seems 'off' mentally. Stepmother has drilled into Briony, 'You have caused Rose's illness, you must care for her at all times and attend to nothing else. Your desires and needs must be subjugated to Rose's.' Briony complies. Her wry mantra is 'I hate myself.' Enter Eldric, amused, amusing, and truly creative in thought and deed. Now the book shifts to mythology that is (as far as I know) created by Billingley- a being whose life is sustained by the creativity of others. This introduces the mystery of Briony and Rose's illnesses. The solution is convoluted and only possible to unravel by someone who truly cares about the twins.
