Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh is satisfyingly dark, sexy and just flat-out amazing. Nalini keeps rocking this Guild Hunter series with each book refreshing, violent and fast-paced- I am not going to get bored with these characters anytime soon. Archangel's Blade begins with a prologue that will pull at your heartstrings and give our hero, Dimitri, an incredible back story. Don't skip it! This story could be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading the previous three installments because they're just as incredible. Dmitri, wow. What a character. Dangerously intense and witty, with an undying love for his long lost wife... Sigh. I really didn't think Nalini could create a better hero than Raphael, but she did. And I'm hoping she outdoes herself again whenever she gives my dearest Illium his own story. It is strange that Elena and Raphael aren't at the forefront, but it suited the novel and it was a refreshing break to have a new couple focused on. Though don't worry, we get to catch up with all of our favorites including Elena, Raphael, Illium and Venom. Even Holly who is recuperating from an archangel attack. The plot is intense, action packed and full of sick little twists and turns that will keep the story flowing. Nalini keeps her plots as gruesome and horrific as ever. Honor had previously been kidnapped and now they're tracking down those that are responsible. Honor is extremely likable, not my favorite heroine, but I enjoyed her character nevertheless. It is fascinating watching her character heal throughout the story. Ok, enough is enough. Archangel's Blade is absolutely delectable. Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy fans- get out there and purchase this book, you won't regret it! Books in this series in the order that they should be read: 1. Angel's Blood 2. Archangel's Kiss 3. Archangel's Consort 4. Archangel's Blade

I liked the book, but it was very slow. It got boring and repetitive at times. But I still kept coming back for more. The characters were hard to figure out, I couldn't choose a side in the law suit... Just on the fence on this book.

I hold these books in a category apart from all others - how, after all, can they be compared to anything else? I remember devouring The Lord of the Rings, tracking the journey of the fellowship on photo-copied maps, reading them again and again until the pages literally fell out. They are some of the most important books to me: such a part of the way I view the world has been shaped by them. I can't walk through the White Mountain woods without thinking of Lothlorien and Rivendell - and I love it like that because it means Middle Earth is all around me and that I just have to look for it in the right places - nor can I read another high fantasy books without thinking of these. They will forever be in my heart and I give immeasurable thanks to Tolkien for penning them.

I read this book 11 years ago & it has some good tips. Sometimes I'll re-read passages or chapters as a refresher. But I find the best way to find help with writing is to just start writing. Writing & reading. This is what has helped me along. There is only so much reading you can do on "how to write" because at some point you're going to have to write. Something to think about.

Can you mix with business with pleasure? Newcomer Yoshe brings us a raw novel. While it’s” hood “and has a street edge to it I say it’s a different read as it shows the ins and outs that correction officers have to deal with on the job. I like the fact that each chapter is a character telling their side of the story. The book goes from first person to third person and is done in a way that works well. The way it’s written, you either hate the characters or love them. We meet Sierra Howell a correction officer at Rikers Island on 5 North. She is independent, has a great job and a plan for her life. She has some haters and takes it all in stride. Sierra has some baggage steaming from a past failed relationship. Sierra takes her career seriously and doesn’t break rules…that’s until she meets Rasheed Gordon a true product of his environment. Rasheed has a swagger about him that not even Sierra can resist, but there is more to him that the eye can see. I have to admit I found myself wishing they could get over their hang-ups and become a couple. Tune in to see if that happens. The supporting cast is connected in one way or another - this makes for a good story to see how they all intertwine. It was good to see that some of the characters learned from their mistakes and made changes for the better. Yoshe does the writing in a way that you are not able to pin point who will come out on top. There are many twisted plots that will make you shake your head and say, wow I did not see that coming. This story was a good story however; the biggest drawback for me was the fact that every single character talked slang 24/7. While most were from the streets and that was understood, it just made for some hard reading. Even the grandparents talk slang so I am thinking ok they know they too old for that! So I was saying as I was reading “nobody talks slang all the time”. At some point you have to turn it off - like at work maybe??? I look forward to reading more from Yoshe in the future as she has the knack for storytelling. I just hope she tones down the slang next time so it will be an easier read. Bu karmaşık bir kitap. Birkaç şey benim için pek doğru gelmedi, ama zevkli bir okumaydı.
