This was a wonderful book. It is a love story, but not girly. I was unable to stop reading until it was finished and then continued to like about the characters for a long time.

I've never read any frederick forsyth before and didn't really know what to expect. I must say I was hooked, fascinated and surprised. My favourite story out of the five in the collection has to be "the Art of the Matter", describing a disgruntled x-employee's vengeance on a corporate bigwig who lost him his job. I also enjoyed "The Veteran", it was quite police procedural (which works well in a short story ) with an excellent twist at the end. The remaining stories in order of my enjoyment were "Whispering Wind", "The Citizen" and "The Miracle".

alright, well i don't know if i'd consider myself an atheist by the definition given in this book, but somewhere approaching that designation. maybe agnostic? this book articulates very well some of my reasons for those beliefs, whichever category/s i may be classified under.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You could really relate to and invest in the characters. I love books like that. It was also very well-written. I really can't see any woman not enjoying this book.

Listening to as an Audio Book. This is about a brother and sister who both are adopted my different parents and who both wanting to find their real parent. The book is about all the problems that had developed from them finding their real parents. I found this book confussing and would not recommed this book to others.

I was halfway through the book before I actually laughed out loud, but there were three more instances after that. Still a pretty low percentage, but I don't think it's quite my sense of humor. My boyfriend is more the target demographic and he laughed pretty much at everything. It became much more impressive when I read at the end that he wrote all this during his four years of undergrad (not only as a senior). That explains why almost everything is from a kid's perspective and how the few pieces in adult voice didn't ring quite true. Many gags are familiar and he doesn't put a new twist on them. But they're the first time for someone. The piece with the hockey players was the most ambitious and thus almost the most impressive (but definitely sad rather than funny, at least to me), but he made some assumptions that just couldn't hold up. The ones I actually laughed at were Medieval England, Stadium Proposal, Sultan of Brunei, and Life in the U.S. Army.

I know, I know, I know, I shouldn't be so in love with this book as I am, but I can't help it. When I read it I laughed so hard I could barely contain myself, and that NEVER happens when I read. Just for that this book deserves the highest rating. I mean, seriously, to get me to laugh over a book is impossible. Impossible, I tell you! So there. So: if you ever loved John Hughes, read this. If the late Mr. Hughes had ever chosen novel-writing instead of film-making, this is what he'd come up with. PS. I love John Hughes.

I really liked this book despite some plot holes, skimpy character development and more than a few "eye rolling" incidents in this book. It was a quick read and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I felt that the plot was pretty original and it definitely held my interest until the very end.
