I thought I would try to read some of Faulkner's classics, but found them very hard to get through. His writing is daunting to say the least. Maybe it's something I'll return to later on life, and appreciate more. I'm still in the middle of As I Lay Dying, which I left back in the States. Clearly I'm in no hurry to finish this one.

It was hard for me to get into this book. It wasn't what I was expecting...at all. I think it was because the time kept switching from "current" to "past" and it messed up my syncing a bit. I could kind of see where the whole book was going. I don't really know what to say. The gore was medium. It was descriptive, but could have been better. It was very action packed. Very well planned. If you like lots of military and fighting and guns and stuff like that, you'd like this. I could tell this book was aimed at a certain audience. I will not be continuing the Joe Ledger novels.

Very interesting so far... A novel about a polygamist family, from a different angle than I have seen before. Wow! I couldn't stop reading this one. And I have such compassion for the polygamist characters. Two parallel themes are explored in this book. The health effects of nuclear bomb testing in the American West and Polygamy. I guess I never thought about health effects of the testing that occurred above ground before and after WW11, but cancer, birth defects, burns,etc effected the residents of the surrounding states.
