Rick Riordan is my favorite children's writer, and this series is another winner for me. I love--LOVE--that he's continuing the Percy Jackson series, but adding more characters who can take the spotlight. It's a continuation, but so much more. As always, his mythology is fascinating, his characters are unlikely and yet perfect hero material, and the adventure and action never stop. This is a must-read series in my house.

I really enjoyed reading Eric Rohmann's My Friend Rabbit, the illustrations followed the story but were also enhancing. You read about what a broad idea and then the idea is expanded upon when you see the picture. The point of view was used very well, To show just how big some of the animals were thepoint of view was groung level. The colors used were simple primary colors and the details of each of the wrinkles were defined. I also enjoyed how the book needed to be turned at one point just to show how high the stack of animals really was.

Almost all of the Drizzt books are a steady 3.5 stars. A great blend of escapist action and thoughtful introspection. And Drizzt is a unique character in fantasy lore which makes it fun to read about him.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book, but I'm so glad I did! This is a charming foray into Golgotham, an other-where neighborhood of NYC that's home to centaurs, shape changers and all manner of magical etceteras. Tate, the main character, is 'just' an average human, but she's no less an interesting character for it. The most enjoyable aspect of the book for me, though, was the world building involved: Golgotham is very well developed as a place, has a unique culture, and it's a lot of fun watching Tate navigate its dangers. I do hope there's a sequel.

This book is extremely inspirational. It is a book that after reading you will continue to think about. It details how people from different backgrounds may distance themselves from each other out of fear but if you really take the time out to learn more about each other you may realize that they could be your deepest friends that you will love and cherish forever. They may even be the one to change your life in a completely different direction and inspire you to be more. This is my all time favorite book I have ever read thus far...
