What can I say. I continue to read Jacqueline Wilson's books when the plots are all the same. Divorce and depression...it's quite depressing to read! I understand it's her "style" but really, she should take a break from all the doom and gloom for once. On the brighter side, this book is about eleven year old Lily whose mother goes on an unexpected holiday with new boyfriend, Gordon, leaving Lily to look after twins Baxter and Bliss and baby Pixie.

I did not expect this book to be as gripping as it was. In fact, I imagined it would be somewhat dry, and antiquated both in speech and context. In fact it was neither!

It was OK, slow to get going but then I kind of expected that having watched the film first. Towards the middle I iked it althugh I think her imagined England was not quite as imaginative as it could have been. OK but not brilliant, that's my verdict.

I think this is an unbelievably good book, but the reality is that it's just too sad and draining to be a must-read. It's really heavy. Beautiful and profound and touching, but it made me ache as only real life should.

I'm so glad I found this book randomly in the library one day. It gives so much insight into the Palestinian struggle. The writers are from across the Palestinian diaspora, and the stories/poems/accounts talk about tons of issues and events. Its an amazing eye-opener that effectively portrays and drives home to the reader the hardships, struggle, and resistance of the Palestinians.

Self-help checklists? Yup. Apocalyptic poetry? Yup. Long and detailed descriptions of mundane activities? Yup. Excessive use of Tori Amos quotes? Yup. This book was definitely an apt sampling of my middle school and high school journaling techniques, for better or worse. Favorite Quotes: God only knows how he felt about me. God's the only one who knows. Actually, he's not. There are two people: God and Mark's sister Amy. THAT BITCH! Sex is, and should be, a mingling of souls. A unification of minds. An expression of endless passion through properly fitting anatomy. I WILL do pot with my neighbor's parents in really weird places. And you can't stop me from buying that oversized flannel on sale for $7.88 at Walmart.

** spoiler alert ** Seventeen-year-old Noelle Kramer was filled with the hopes and dreams of first love, believing that in Thad MacKaslin she had found the man she would spend the rest of her life with. But on the night they were to elope, she learned he had left town without a word, and she believed she would never see him again. Although her heart was broken, she planned to marry another and at least have a home and family of her own, until a tragic accident left her parents dead and Noelle blind, destroying her plans for the future. Now, five years later, in the winter of 1883, Noelle lives a quiet life with her aunt, uncle, and cousins. Her blindness has caused her to give up all her dreams of love, marriage, and children. On their way home from town during a blizzard, Noelle and her aunt are almost killed by a runaway horse, but a stranger saves them - a stranger Noelle soon realizes is Thad MacKaslin, who has returned to their hometown of Angel Falls, Montana. And although both Noelle and Thad try to deny it, they still have feelings for each other. Has God given them a second chance at love and happiness together? This book was one of the most enjoyable historical romances I've read in a while. Fans of western and inspirational romances are sure to enjoy this story of two people who had given up on a future together but are given a second chance to realize their dreams. The love story was incredibly sweet and emotional, rather than so many romances which focus on the physical romance but neglect the emotional side of a relationship. I'd highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a sweet and emotional romance without all the graphic scenes.

I prefer Gustav Klimt over pretty much any other 'classic' painter I've ever seen. This book collects many of his works in one volume, including his early ink works. A fair amount of bibliographical information is also included. "Judith II" is my favourite work of his, and it's included in this book. He rendered several nudes, and some of his work may be considered as inappropriate for children by prudes. TO SUM UP: HIGHLY recommended for fine art fans.
