It was nothing like I expected. Once I was resigned to this, it wasn't so bad for about fifty pages or so. Then I realized that it wasn't very good, period. Don't expect anything Victorian here, you won't find it. It didn't work as a relationship drama either. Stay away.

Pretty good, quick read for pre-teens/teens. Publ. by Shadow Mountain, so it is pretty clean- free from bad language, etc. Very much a good versus evil book with lots of morals thrown in. If you liked Leven Thumps or Fablehaven- this one is similar.

This is the saddest book I've read in some time. It tells the story of one Holocaust survivor's experiences in various concentration camps and details how he was de-sensitized as a human being within days of arriving at the camps. Warning - this is a tough read. In different passages, it describes sons turning against fathers over a piece of bread, Nazis throwing babies into incinerators, and multiple other horrors endured by Jews duing the Holocaust. It's an important book to read because it forces you to confront what was done while the rest of the world turned a blind eye...

I loved this book--another YA, but one that received a lot of critical acclaim. The good moments are really, really lovely, and the heartbreaking moments are really, really wrenching. Lots of ground covered in a short space, and the end seems almost unrealistically positive, but this was a great read.

Derin bir okuma değil. Hızlı, biraz sığ ve öngörülebilir bir okuma. Ancak, siyasi hikaye ilginç. Çok fazla karakter gelişimi. GERÇEK bir uçak okudu, ama çok memnun oldum. Bunu söylemeye neredeyse utanıyorum, çünkü bu gerçekten benim tarzım değil. Ama bir hafta boyunca alanı 'hafif' gerilim / gizemli okuma ile doldurdu.
