This took me way longer than usual to read because I was so ill last month and concentrating my eyes on a book was the last thing that I could handle most of the time but when I was feeling well again and got back to reading it I devoured the remaining chapters. In all honesty I'm probably a little biased towards loving this book because I think Alison Weir is a fantastic writer to begin with and I really love novels about monarchs, I'm just such a sucker for them and it's pretty easy to suck me in because of that. This novel is about Eleanor of Aquitaine whom I had never even heard of before I started reading this, I don't know if that's shameful or not considering we're talking about the High Middle Ages in France here, but Weir ambitiously tackles Eleanor's marriage to Henry II in this book, from start to finish. As she lays out in her author's notes at the back of the book she didn't want to write a novel about the whole of Eleanor's life but if she went back and wrote about Eleanor's first marriage (to King Louis VII of France) I would happily read it. Eleanor is a strong, feisty woman in a time when women were expected to be meek and submissive, she sees herself as a lioness and feels in her younger years that she can take on the world. For me the transition of her through middle age and into her twilight years is handled beautifully and delicately and I'm not too proud to say that I cried at the end of the book, I couldn't help myself. Weir has a way of constructing these really concise but poignant sentences. In the end it's the way that she rounds out her characters that makes me enjoy her novels so much and this is no exception; Eleanor and Henry in particular are both characters that go through massive changes over the thirty-seven years the novel covers and no matter how frustrating they can be they really are just human in the end, it's the humanity in this novel that made me enjoy it so much. I would recommend it to anyone.

A walk to remember is a book written by Nicholas Sparks, it's an amazing love story. I really loved this story very much, this writer as I said before for the book message in a bottle that he touches the feelings of the readers and he goes through their minds in a very good way! The story is talking about a man his age is around 57 years old, he's telling us about his past that he said that he won't ever forget this man is Landon Carter. He takes us back to live with him in his amazing story. The story took place in the town of Beaufort, North Carolina, at this time he was 17 years old and he was in a high school. When he was choosing his classes he chose the drama class thinking that this would be easier for him than the chemistry class. In this class there was a girl called Jamie Sullivan, She was a minister's daughter. He and Jamie grew up for few years together but they weren’t good friends as much as friends do, they only know each other's. Jamie was a very good girl, she always prefer going to the orphanage to help people who have no parents. She was a wise girl and that looks on her look, Yes she wears as the girls do but she wasn't fashionable, She was also reading the bible to gain more social relations and to be understandable and she goes to the cinema. Those were some important things she was doing routinely. Jamie asked Landon to be the lead role of the play since no one wanted to do it and as long as the play was very important to Jamie and he didn't want to hurt her, he agreed. After that the both became closer to each others. Being the president of his high school, Landon must find a date to the dance to fulfill his duties. After searching about the date he finally came up with a conclusion was that to ask Jamie Sullivan to dance since there was no one left. She agreed his proposal to the dance. More and more and he found himself falling in love with her and he realized that he truly loved her. After many dates he found a topic that he could never believe and that was the big shock when he heard that she had terminal leukemia and that she had stopped the medicine and gave up from getting better. Landon wants to fulfill Jamie’s wish list example by building a telescope so she can see a comet. Through this process, Landon and Jamie learn more about the nature of love. They both knew how much they loved each other's and they married in the same chapel as was Jamie's deceased mother and that's how the book ended.Landen kept thinking about her for a long time and he even didn't get to realize how did she left him and gone. Years over years and then he begin to realize that and to begin his life , yes he did and he go over his life but the heart was stopped since the date and the day he saw his wife and his true love dead with no faith and that he can't do anything for her which was very hard to be felt. I think this book was more than amazing , The story was very romantic and sensitive but as much as it was romantic it hurt at the end because the feeling of the helplessness is horrible especially when you love this one maybe more than yourself. Moreover , I think this book teaches something precious that people and life can go on by mind not only by heart as long as the heart is blocked then no one could enter it except the one who blocked it and since that he's not on earth as people say then it won't be able to open. And at the end, LIFE GOES ON!

With the intrigue of Memento and the romance of The Time-Traveller's Wife, Forgotten is the perfect YA novel. Here's the thing about me: I can see the future in flashes, like memories. But my past is a blank. I remember what I'll wear tomorrow, and an argument that won't happen until this afternoon. But I don't know what I ate for dinner last night. I get by with the help of notes, my mom and my best friend Jamie, and the system works ...Until now. Everything's falling apart. Jamie's going of the rails. My mom is lying to me. And I can't see the boy I adore in my future. But today, I love him. And I never want to forget how much ...Forgotten is the story of a girl for whom yesterday is lost, today is an adventure, and tomorrow is a memory. An unforgettable read. From Amazon UK I received a surprise ARC of Forgotten last week, and as soon as I read the press release, I pretty much squealed. It sounded so unique, so fresh, and so exciting! So as soon as I finished the book I was reading at the time, I picked this book. And I have just one word for you: wow! Forgotten was so much better than I even imagined it was going to be. It was very reminiscent of the movie 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, with the notes that London leaves herself every night. But the difference is that she remembers the future - not see the future in flashes or glimpses, but "remembers" it, like we remember the past. She recognises people she sees today from remembering them being in her future - her mother, her best friend, etc. Which is why it's so odd that she doesn't remember this gorgeous boy who shows up one day at school, and how she has to write notes every night so she knows him the next day - even after weeks of knowing each other. It's really beautiful seeing London try and keep a relationship going with Luke when she doesn't it's like meeting him for the very first time everyday. She doesn't tell Luke about her memory problem, like she doesn't tell most people. There are a very few people who do actually know, so trying to build a relationship from what is nothing each and everyday, by the help of her notes and what her mum tells her... it's difficult, but wonderful and beautiful to watch. But it's not all lovely moments with her boyfriend. She has a re-occuring memory from the future of a funeral, but she doesn't know who it is. At first, it's only brief, little moments that she remembers, but then she remembers more details each time. Her mum is the only person she recognises from her day-to-day life, and she has no idea what's going on, but knows it's something big. That along with fighting with Jamie, her best friend, and lied to by her mum over her relationship with her dad, along with trying to live as normal a life as possible with her condition... life isn't really all that easy. There isn't much more I can tell you about this book without spoiling it, but it is absolutely fantastic! Seriously, I cannot tell you how good it is! Unfortunately, it's just a stand alone novel, though I finished wanting more and more. This is one book you cannot miss out on, it's just amazing! From Once Upon a Bookcase - YA book blog.
