The automated program is set in motion when the news of his death hits the internet. The book opens with the murder of an employee and quickly builds to massacres. Gorey. The ending was a bit too "not an ending - a new beginning" for my taste. Extremely entertaining after two clunky opening chapters! If you've every uttered a sentence where acronyms replaced all nouns, this is the book for you.

Taylor is the author of several personal reminiscences of country life in Ireland. This book was a somewhat eclectic collection of stories, some humorous and quirky, some feeling very Irish, some more obscure or random in their feeling. Supposedly the author's first book ("To School Through the Fields") in the series was her best, but I enjoyed these stories and the reading of the narrator.

I found this book to be extremely readable. The characters were drawn with such detail that I cared about them. This is a sad story ultimately, and reminds us that we have little control over our lives, although it is only when we look back that we realise it. Looking back, we feel the bitter sweetness of memory.

This made me feel sick with the amount of swears and vulgarity in the modern part of the story and the historical part was very upsetting to me he made it very hard for to know what was truth and what part he was making up! Left me feeling very dark and depressed.

So far, it's a little bit tough to get in to. The continuous stream of consciousness is very hard to manage as there are pretty much no paragraph breaks, and very little punctuation. You have to be committed to it. Once I have finally settled down to read it, I will follow with more.

Having a very difficult time reading this book- I am sure the movie is as heart wrenching. The Enotion and pain are so raw- very difficult to read. I have not been able to finish this book- may pick it up later this winter- too painful! Unable to read the end- too painful at this time for me.
