Wow, what an amazing book! It was slow to start, but not because it was written in a dry manner, but rather I wasn't giving it the attention it so much deserved! Being without wifi at home I've been more committed to reading this book in my free time and it really was an amazing story. I've read Wild Swans, a true account of several generations of life in China, particularly during the reign of Mao, but this had details in it that no one could never dream up in their worst nightmares! What a gripping and touching tale of survival and mother's love for her daughter. Very highly recommended for anyone interested in Asian culture fiction.

I find it difficult to dive into the worlds DeLillo creates. Being dedicated to Paul Auster, one of my all time favorites, I really wanted to love this book. However, literature trivia did not pay of this time. The characters do not let you near, you need to keep a certain distance, like tourists in a museum. Or may be this was the original intention. It was an interesting read, however, not everyones cup of tea. On a different note, I do wonder what Cronenberg will do with this metarial in the film version.

Excellent guide if you live in the urban sprawl between Boston and DC. useful elsewhere, too. I particularly like the pictures in the back of the book with similar species together. They show several examples of variable or sexually dimorphic species and tell you what to look for. i still can't tell most skippers apart, though. The data for when they appear in what location is also very interesting and useful.

Gives the reader a cheesy synopsis of the first time Joe met Eve after the abduction of her daughter. Then the remainder of the book goes off on a tangent with Catherine Ling (the latest undercover, military tactic know-it-all superstar) in Johansen's lineup. This series has to end and I'm looking forward to the (hopefully) last book in the series. The first few books were so fantastic, and now its completely run out of steam. BUT, I have to know who killed Bonnie, thus still reading.

The Last Dragonslayer has something in common with Disney movies; no, not the racism thing... This is a book for younger readers, but that I, technically an adult, really quite enjoyed... I don't recall any racism, just to be clear! I laughed, I cried, I didn't put it down, and as is Jasper's way, there were jokes that some might not get, but that keep those of us who read a lot, and enjoy a good sense of humour, reading and laughing. With a sassy 15-year-old, female lead, and an assistant named Tiger Prawns, you can see it's going to be a good time! The Last Dragonslayer is a story of fantasy, complete with magic and dragons, taking place in the present day, with phones, plumbing, and cars. Instantly a classic, instantly one of my favourite books, and I can't wait for the rest!
