I was so excited to start this book! The end of the first one left you hanging...does Mrs. Murdo read the note, does she get everyone to follow? Right off you find out they do come, but are in rough shape. I like the messages the book gives...Anger causes unintended consequences, fighting causes war, etc. The characters of Tick, Torren and Casper bugged the crap out of me! I hate people like that in real life and its those types of personalities that cause strife among others, like in the book. I want to know what happens to the people from Ember. They've been told at the end they are now part of the Sparks village, but what does that mean? Will they prosper as a group, or will they eventually set out on their own? And Doon discovered electricity again, what will that do for them? So many questions, I can't wait to read the rest of the series for the answers!

A good book, kept me entertained while stuck in a small room for days with nothing to do. I learned to not be as judge mental to the ex cons. People make mistakes, or don't at all but get caught up in it. Its a tragedy really. There's a very realistic love story during it all. I can very much relate to! I know i'll end up reading this book again!

This title caught my eye while I was in the bookstore in the Sevilla train station. My favorite period of Spanish history is the 15th century, so I had to get it. I would love to include it some time in a course on modern representations of that fascinating period of Spain.

A friend suggested this book to me years ago. Honestly, I didn't ever think I'd read it because sci-fi/fantasy really isn't my *thing*. I'm glad I gave in. Replay is one of the best stories I've ever read. The main character of this book dies within the first few pages... and then returns to relive his life over and over with all of the knowledge his life experiences have given him. There are twists and turns throughout, keeping you guessing about what will happen, where Jeff's life will take him next and how the story will conclude.

One of the most complete and greatest adventures ever written. You'll never believe you can feel this passionate about rabbits. Especially when it can reasonably be called a kiddie book. But then really it's a passionate story about life in all its glory.

This was never going to be a waste of my time - I can read anything about the UFC and be entertained. I have watched Chuck fight since the mid 90's. He was everything you wanted to be as a striker making the transition to MMA. The book reads like Chuck just sitting there talking to you and he tells it like it is. A great read for any fan!
Fascinating conversations between two of today's most brilliant minds.
It's been about a year since I read this book but I do remember parts of it. I really enjoyed this twist on "The twelve dancing princesses." Defiantly a book I want to read again.

Having read Bert Carson's book "Fourth and Forever" I wanted to delve into his world again, and so picked up "Southern Investigation." And was not disappointed. I can go on reading Bert Carson's honeyed voice for hours at a time without getting tired. He has the natural storyteller's gift that makes it look easy, and he has a fascinating story to tell. Southern Investigation is about a group of Vietnam veterans who stick together for decades after the war. They know each other so well they know what the others are thinking before they say it. And they love each other in a spiritual and esoteric way that maybe only other veterans of foreign wars can fully comprehend. This tight group of people form a company that's involved in private investigation work in the part of Alabama that they come from. They grow older as the years go by, righting wrongs and digging up information, keeping their skills and minds sharp. Their ultimate mission puts all their skills and beliefs to the test, and this makes gripping reading. Southern Investigation should be required reading for active duty servicemen and -women as well as veterans, and anyone else who is interested in understanding what might go through the minds of the men and women who are charged with defending our freedom.
I felt like I was slogging through this one, but I did love this line from Poirot, "If you will forgive me for being personal - I do not like your face, M. Ratchett." Nice smack down, M. Poirot. Nice.
