Excellent. Story of 50 year old writer who is the daughter of a philandering man who is a college professor of classics. He left her mother for the love of his life- a African-American plumb woman who works in a bakery and who has never read the NYTimes Book Review. Cassandra is well-know as author of two best selling memiors one title "Her Father's Daughter" which tells about growing up in Balitmore during the 1970's and being the smartest girl in the class and while in elementary school best friends with three Black girls. Her third book and first book of fiction is languishing on book store shelves.After living in Brooklyn, she is back in Baltimore for a book signing whe doubts about her ablity to write fiction,and when the detais of her life story is brought into question and her prepective on not only race relations but also her parents is naive. A story not of coming of age, but of reassessment of her life and regaining of belief in herself.

This book is needed because it gives some closure to "The Girl Who Played with Fire". It's a bit long and not nearly as good as the previous book, however it gives some closure to the story that was left hanging and I liked getting to spend more "time" with the characters. It is a shame that there are only 3 of the planned 10 books, perhaps this book was leading up to bigger and better things that we will not be able to know.
