wow. at first I thought I would not like it but the story is so weird. Why does everybody want to kill this arrogant good-looking guy who took this young wife's virginity before her wedding? The whole village just seems to go crazy for revenge. Must read some more GGM books now! Quick read. Who finds this boring just doesn't understand..

This is a wonderful book that I had been eyeing for some time and then Aaron gave it to me for Christmas. Its a new take on the local restaurant guide. This book is a guide to local food sources. Local cheese makers, mills, orchards....whatever you're looking for, its there. I only wish they had information for places in New York which is technically "not New England!"

El Preemption se alza en Manhattan. Es un edificio de apartamentos que se ve convertido en un territorio entre cuento de hadas y afilada realidad. Personajes extravagantes pero increíblemente reales se van perfilando y entremezclando a lo largo de toda la novela. No he podido parar de leerlo desde que lo he empezado: me parece un retrato inteligentísimo sobre la soledad en una gran ciudad, sobre los aspectos más íntimos de los personajes, sobre búsquedas personales. Es triste, absurdo, bello... todo a un tiempo. Me ha encantado conocerlos a todos, y sobre todo haber descubierto a un autor a tener en cuenta, sin duda.

Overall I enjoyed this book although I was a little upset with the heroine at times. I had to remember that this is how women acted in that time frame. It was a nice change from the usual setting of boy meets girl in girl. She was in trouble but with unusual circumstances and it wasn't the family ranch in trouble. Carter's problems were definitely different and I loved how he came out of his shell to love and protect her.

As a collection of of stories about passion, it wasn't too bad. Maybe because they were shorter stories, the characters never really felt that fleshed out and I couldn't find them very relateable. Odds are, that wasn't the point. By far I enjoyed the fourth story the best where the female was also the hero. I always enjoy a story where the woman kicks tail! Would I recommend this book? Sure, it's good for a summer-on-the-beach read.

I normally love all these true story animal books. This one was lacking; the last part of the book was the best. While the book title makes you think it is solely about Dewey, it is mostly a memoir about the author. Just did not find it as engaging as The Daily Coyote or Wesley the Owl.

Well, I don't much to say. It had a little much violence and blood. There wasn't a huge amount of things I liked about it. I wish I could find something else to read, but I'm really just trying to get over with the original sieres so I'm not known as a Naruto freak. Now that my friends lie more with Meg and her friends I've tended to go back to my normal interests. I just know I can't be caught DEAD with one of these books at school.
