o! my love for Gary Snyder is only burgeoning. this reader includes many prose pieces that the fan of his poetry would appreciate as they open up about his environmental and buddhist ideas. Snyder writes succinctly, describing the world around him with a realist's tounge. His poetry blends nature and humanity with a simplicity that is hard to match.

Alexis (A.K.A. Alex) and her brothers have been termed as the ‘Evil Evins’ by their neighbour, Mr McGuire. When the latest in the line of Alexis’ various escapades does not go as planned (Well, burning Mr McGuire’s couch and his hair were certainly not a part of the plan!), Alexis’s father decides to send them to a life skill building programme, Champs, to teach them teamwork and to put their skills to better usage. Can the ‘Evil Evins’ work together to do some good instead of bad for once? Odd Girl In is an enjoyable and sweet story of family relations and friendship. Though I usually take some time to finish even the shortest of books, Odd Girl In is one of the books that I completed in one day. A sweet and joyful book, Odd Girl In will keep you stuck to it till the very end. This book has some laugh out loud moments. I don’t remember laughing so much while reading a book as I did in this book. The first scene itself was hilarious. Even in the emotional scenes, the readers will find it hard to decide whether to laugh or cry as some crazy stuff is bound to happen if Alex is around. Except the humour, what I liked about this book is the sweet depiction of the family relationships and friendships. The Evins family may look crazy from afar, but in truth they too are a normal family with problems and sadness which they cope up in their own unique or ‘crazy’ way. Alexis may put up an “I don’t care” attitude up front but the truth is that no matter how tough and unfeeling she may act, inside she is just a lonely and caring twelve year old who craves for her mother’s love. Alex is a character who will surely command a cozy corner in your heart. Odd Girl In is narrated from Alex’s point of view. As the story proceeds, we feel the growth in Alex’s character. She does not only try to be a good friend but also comes to a better understanding with her brothers and father. Though at first Alex and her brothers had thought Champs to be a compulsion forced on them but they soon realise Champs is not only bringing them closer but also encouraging them to try newer and unexplored fields. Looking back, I think almost all characters of the book claimed a little space in my heart be it the tom boyish Alex, geeky Parker, perfectionist but sweet Emily, sporty and calm Nick or Alex’s disorganised and adorable Dad. Chloe in her ‘I am mean and evil’ mode was perfect too. Odd Girl In may not be very memorable but this is a book which is capable of winning anyone’s heart. Odd Girl In is definitely a book which everyone should try reading at least once. As for me I can’t wait to read the other books by Jo Whittemore. Overall: A good story, lots of laughter and some emotional moments -all the things I want from a perfect feel-good book Recommended? Yes, to all middle graders and young adults, and also to all those who are still young at heart as this is a book that can make you roar with laughter and also make you sentimental.

Ideal for little kids, but I have to say I've re-read several times as I've gotten older and I still love it.

I was hooked after about the third chapter and then I could not put the book down. I actually was crying by the time the book ended and was so proud of Margo and her accomplishments. I didn't want the book to end and was disappointed that it ended where it did: what happened to Margo? Did she ever have a good relationship with men? So many other questions I have but I don't want to spoil the book. There was a underlining theme in the book about relationships as Margo makes her way to adulthood living off the land. I don't want to spoil the book but there are many sexual encounters for Margo and it isn't until later that Margo relizes that it's okay to say no. I feel for Margo that she had no adult female to talk to and support her but she was a strong person and she did great. Bonnie did a great job explaining in detail the emotions that Margo was feeling as she was encountering the daily work on the river. There were times when Margo was cleaning her kills and I felt I was right there beside her with the intestines of the rabbits on the ground. Good to read a book where the girl can shoot a gun and have a happy ending. Excellent read!!!

So glad I picked this up on a whim! An irrelevant take on time travel which crosses many genres while remaining consistently hilarious. Read it super fast and then was sad to be done.

When my three year old nephew brought me this book and asked me to read it to him I was not expecting to end up bawling into a kleenex while my nephew looked up at me like I had gone compeltely insane... but that's exactly what happened, this book ranks up there with " I love you forever" in terms of gut-wrenchingly amazing childrens stories.

I chose to read this for an independent reading assignment during 7th grade! I'm not sure I even finished it... Why, Matt, why?

پایان غافلگیر کننده ای داشت.و البته کمی اغراق.
