I read this on a car trip this summer when I had finished my book and I hijacked one of the ones my sister wasn't using. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Avi was still awesome because I remembered reading and loving a few good Avi novels when I was younger.

The art wasn't, IMO, Brom's best, but still very nice. This is basically a kids story but it's very dark and includes occasional cursing. It is fun though and the pictures really make it like reading a fairy tale. I especially enjoyed the use of magic in the story.

As much as I love John Matthew, I was salivating when ever I got to Quinn and Blay's parts. Is it sad to say I was more interested in the two of them and their love affair? God, I can't wait for the new book. Regardless though, JM was a man I definitely would want to meet in a dark alley. Yes, I said that right. It could go for any of the Brothers as well to be honest. Even though he's a mute doesn't deter from his sure-as-shit attitude and the way he carries himself. It's with confidence and power and the man knows it.
