** spoiler alert ** It's a so-so kind of book. The story is not what I expected it to be and I don't know if that's a good thing. I hate the ending. I read it because first of all, it is PC's book. Secondly, I got intrigued by the summary-the soul mate thingy. Many parts of the book were boring and nonsensical(?) (dunno if that's the right term to use). The story is the only thing I like in the book. I really like the first half of the book especially the first few pages. I started to get bored in the second part, the 'Winter and Spring'. But some parts are still okay, what I mean is it is not as good as the first part. Also the story in second half is a bit fast. I hate the ending. In my opinion it would be a lot better if Brida end up with her Soul mate, I mean the Magus. She even chose him but the Magus let her go. I really hate that. I really got disappointed in that part. For me that's the worst.

it was actually kind of entertaining through the first 900 pages, but the end was as if the editor said, "ok, dude, wrap it up. it's long enough." all in all i thought it was pretty lame.

Compelling, although a long slog in the end. I found myself more interested in the parts about the narrator's encounter with America than with the sections on survival in refugee camps.

Borrowed from public library. Adult fiction. This is a terrible book. Way too much garbage: affairs, sex, language. I won't read any more of hers. The only good one was To Touch A Dream. Nothing good to say about the content of this one.

You should know that this book is about carnies, not about the kind of geek who is into computers and junk. I was caught off guard from the get-go. I was into the story initially, but then it went to a place I didn't like. I found myself bored and just wishing it was over. Overall, a great big "meh."
