I must have read this book a long time ago and forgot it, because when I started reading it, I began remembering and anticipating fragments and events in the book. I read it shortly after Year of Fog, and in all honesty found Year of Fog more believable and poignant. Maybe because in latter, I related more to the main character--a single female, not financially secure, with very little by way of family. The people and events in Deep End of the Ocean did not resonate with me in the same way. The one exception to this was Vincent, AKA Reese. His character was well-developed and compelling, and had a touch of pathos that really tugged at my heart. Other than that, a kinda "meh" book. Ending: Bittersweet, somewhat ambiguous

Not quite 4 stars, but closer to 4 than 3. Similar to The Hunger Games in many ways. I will read subsequent books in this series if published.

A very fun read, great characters with good twists and turns. This was a fantastic tie-in to the ABC show "Castle". That being said, the dialogue in this book is atrocious -- over-the-top and cheesy. If Richard Castle were real, I'd seriously wonder how he had become a best-selling author writing such dialogue.

Typically I don't read this type of book, but it was recommended by someone with good "book taste" so I gave it a read. I liked the Christian approach to understanding where men are coming from. While most of the main points weren't much of a surprise (after 18 years of marriage if I haven't figured most of this out then I haven't been paying attention), it was very interesting to learn the reasoning behind the behaviors/needs. And it never hurts to be reminded.

Great idea for a book. To tell the story of 3 women's lives affected by marriages to Mr. Kimble (a real wiener). I loved how you learned about him only through the impressions he was making on the characters stories.

2.5 stars This story suffers from its length. It has a good premise but it is way too short for the execution. The past part takes a pretty good portion of the story but most of them is from Lane's point of view, so we have no idea why Matt leaves just like that. Oh, sure, we get Matt's explanation in a several paragraphs in the present, but that is just not enough. PLUS, the reconciliation is just too quick to solve with just Lane hitting Matt in the jaw. Hell, no ...
