His nostalgia became mine. So did his joy and anger. This is more than a book. I'll never forget.

she writes so well..A bleak sort of book. Really speaks to showing love, care and attention to your children....

This is the best book I have read in 2011. I probably won't find a better one this year. This gem of a book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I laughed out loud. I cried tears that ran down my face. I rooted for the main character, Caitlin, and her father. Even though this book is geared toward elementary children (4-6), I think just about any teen or adult can appreciate this touching story. I want to find a way to teach it in my 10th grade classroom. Do yourself a favor and read this book! (I blazed through it in 2-3 hours. I'm not even sure of the exact time because I was so absorbed. I started it right before bed, woke up early on Sunday morning to read more, went to church, came back and finished it before lunch.)

I have to read so many young adult books because of my job and I haven't listed them here. I just reread this one though, and it wasn't half bad!!!

After the intro I was a bit wary of the contents, but it was given to me from a reliable source. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past her writing style. I hate how to books, and defintely didn't relish reading a how to self-help yourself book. Some of her concepts are interesting, and I found willing my train to arrive did work. But beyond that...her ideas about hate bubbles coming towards you if you worry about your bills, and being late for work, and other negative concepts was taking her positive energy theory too far.

The Wanderer, book one in the Wasteland series, follows the story of a Wanderer Shaman after 2012's 'great burning'. I wanted to complete the entire series before I posted my review of them. I have to say that The Wanderer started the series off very strongly with a very interesting premise of life after a solar flare scorches the earth. I enjoyed the series and the different 'stations' of life presented all wrapped up with an erotic bow. Also, who can deny the amazingness of these covers! I've got severe Cover Envy right now. However, with the Wanderer starting the series off so strongly it was hard for the other books to keep up. Book Two, The Whore, was good, but didn't have the advantage of being read first, so it's plot and information wasn't as interesting. Also, Bryn's character felt much younger than the 20 years she was supposed to be in the book. Book Three, The Breeder, was a bit hard to swallow. This could be in part to my lack of enjoyment with 'love in 24hr' story lines, but it also came from the rushed feel of this book. There was also some conflicting parts of this story which grated on my nerves a bit. (I don't like to provide spoilers, so I can't go into too much detail - other than peoples feelings changed too quickly). Book Four, The Preistess, had the advantage of wrapping the story up - neatly and tying things together. It also had the advantage of giving the true history of what occured after the radiation desolated the planet. This gave the plot a greater advance over the others; however, the Sanji (sp) character felt forced into story more than a true part of it. Overall, this was a decent series and was worth reading.

I immediately fell in love with this book! A massive fan of Abbi Glines writing I knew I'd love it! I was drawn t Dank and Pagan and loved the whole concept of their love and bond. He was always there looking out for her and I hope their love it still as strong in the books to come! I so KNEW Leif was not human! I had this feeling through the whole book that something was off and damn I couldn't believe it! I thought it was just me thinking that! I am so excited to read the next book now to see what happens!

this collection of essays, recipes, stories, old sketches of new orleans, email correspondence, quotes from famous new orleanians, and a little lagniappe is overall good but some sections are definitely stronger than others. overall, "the dirge," which is specifically about katrina and her aftermath, is stronger than the following section, "the return." however, i think "the return" is important, because some of the stories capture the unique essence of new orleans, and it's important not to lose sight of this as we rebuild. and the lagniappe, of course, is delicious.

Çirkin bir modern sanat düşüncesine baktığımı hissettim, "Anlayamıyorum, ama yapmam gerektiğini hissediyorum." Eh.
