I actually really liked this book. It got my attention right at the start and kept me wondering what would happen to them next! There is something to be said for "nice". It will get you places you never have been before, and it showed what could happen even in bad times. I think it was well written and it didn't dwell on anything for too long of periods of time.

Brian Hanson, a therapist, does not accept the death of his patient, Tammy Grundig, as a suicide. In his quest for answers he stirs up a hornets nest that ruins his marriage and, almost, gets himself killed. His instincts and military training help him overcome all obstacles. The story is well developed and told , but, this reader had difficulty with the author's style. It did not allow for an easy flow, and it detracted from the wonderful story that developed.

I really enjoyed this book. The side characters - Issie and Devyn - are great. And while I care about Zara and Nick, the impending war is far more interesting to me than the romance. The author has done some interesting things here with Norse mythology, and I look forward to seeing where that goes. The addition of Astley and what that leads to should make for an interesting third book - which I'm going to start right now!
