I loved this book from the 1st page and could not put it down. It deals with the harsh reality of sexual child abuse but from the childs perspective along with the family's that took the child into their home. It was done extremely well and would highly recommend this book.

I've been waiting for this one since I Comfort Object. I deeply enjoyed that book, but it has nothing on this one. I was prepared to love Kyle. He was a supporting character in Comfort Object, but what I wasn't prepared for was seeing a character like Caressa in romance novel. Difficult. Unruly. Hard to know and understand because she doesn't know herself, yet. God, I understood that character. I am that character sometimes. Love and age have tempered me, but reading this book brought me close that self I used to be. I know I'm ranting on about myself and not the book, but that's the beauty of this woman's work. Annabel Joseph reaches deep inside and forces her characters and her readers to confront things they might not want to. It's the first book that's made me cry in a long time and I believe it's because of the deeply personal reaction I had to it. I think anyone who reads this book with an open heart can find a piece of themselves here. I can't think of a better recommendation to give a book.
