This is an excellent book for bible study small groups. Each chapter is about a different fruit of the spirit (patience, gentleness, joy, self control, etc.). At the end of each chapter there are discussion questions that are fairly thought provoking. Bridges' points are discussed in a clear and concise manner which you can remember.

First off let me say that it was only by chance did I read this book. My fiance picked it up in a thrift store and since it was laying around, I thought I'd give it a look. As far as the book goes I was impressed on how the author described relationships for women, of course being a guy how would I know what women think...right? My thought is that in the teenage years it is the thought of being in love, 20's, you think your in love, and in your 30's, you want to be in love. And that is what I got out of this book. The last story with Jane I thought was the most entertaining and now looking back on it, I think the book would have been better from that point of view, maybe a whole story instead of 30 pages. Another thing that I did not like about the book is the two sections that went completly away from Jane and her family, for awhile I didn't know what I was reading or what it was leading into. But, overall it was a very entertaining book, I think women would understand it more than men would but don't let that discourage any guy who likes a good read.

I read this for my American history class in high school and have never forgotten it. I know it was a tough life to live, but I wanted to be there. This was an amazing way to learn about American history, and a great alternative to dry textbooks.
