Although this was a short book, it was difficult to stay focused on the authors story/point due to the numerous spelling and grammatical errors. I was able to understand that the author was trying to convey a message of persistence and determination after experiencing the loss of his wife. He used the words of god to strengthen himself and become a better parent to his 3 children. I just could not believe the amount of corrections needed in this book. From the beginning to the end there were spelling errors, words used out of context and incorrect punctuation as well. If a reader tries hard enough they will be able to decipher the message, which is a positive one. The bottom line is that without proper editing, the reader becomes discouraged while trying to determine what is actually being said. The book can be useful as a guideline for those that have had their faith shaken by trauma/loss. I just have to say that there must be some accountability when it comes to editing. I had a few false starts before I finally got into this one enough to finish it. A basic happy-ending, hot-sex Harlequin. The characters were flat and one-sided.

Nora gets a new biology partner and developes feelings for him just to discover he's a dangerous, fallen angel who wants to kill her but is also in love with her. Soon her life is full of danger. I really liked this book. You never know what's coming. There's twists and turns all the time.

Another exhilarating, complicated, nauseating, multi-layered cop and crime opus from Ellroy's. Layers upon layers, no good guys. The cops are crooked, the crooks are sadistic, the mobsters violent and plotting. Everyone is damaged goods but ultimately human. A very hard book to put down.

This reads like a stand-up comedy act. I could relate to some of the author's trials and tribulations but her tone is whiny and ultimately I just wanted her to shut up, thus I closed the book.
