This book is extremely disturbing, yet undoubtedly moving. The text with no punctuation adds to the confusion: you can imagine what the characters are feeling. It helps make the story feel very realistic, another of my favorites because I always love stories about how easily human beings can become so much like animals in the wild the minute the structure of society is removed.

I couldn't finish this book. Too boring. Pages and pages of the author's opinions and reactions to pieces of music and to books. Who cares? I wanted to hear about what it was like transitioning from Africa to New York.

I enjoyed the format of this book and the style in which it's written; the author mixes his general observations about love in with a fictional story of a romance he's having with a woman named Chloe. But after finishing it, I decided it would be more aptly named 'On Infatuation' because I think that's really what he's describing, not a deep committed love.

Jacqueline Carey's writing is a thing of wonder and beauty,sensual and poetic,absolutely breathtaking.And there's still more coming from this wonderful writer!I hope they never make this series into a movie,some books were never written for the big screen,and the Kushiel's Saga is one of them.It would lose the magic that only the written word have,the written poetry with which some authors are able to take you to another worlds,another dimensions,just like Carey has been able to do with the Kushiel's Saga.She's an amazing author!
