Of all of the Bret Easton Ellis novels, which are thinly connected, this one is my favorite. I don't know if the story appealed to me the most, or if it's just because it's the first one of his that I read, but, although I've loved them all so far, this is the one I'd recommend the highest.

this book was interesting on a national level, as well as a personal level. women doing a man's work for a lower price and incurring man's wrath. sexism in the work place, eastern style. the fixation on youth. and it was a fast, exciting read! the characters were relatable. i KNOW kuniko. the only part that lost me was the very end. if somebody can break this down for me i would make them 10 bento boxes.

Each two-page spread has a couplet about a jungle animal and its tail. By moving a dial the reader makes the tail appear. Unfortunately, one of the dials was broken before my daughter even opened the book. At least one misused apostrophe appears. The bright illustrations are really the only thing appealing about this book. I received this book for Piper as part of the Mymcbooks Birthday program.

While not as good as the second in the King Raven trilogy, it does give some character development to Friar Tuck, who has long been regarded as a sottish, humorous character with little depth in most stories of Robin Hood. It also develops room for heroism to take another form rather than the swashbuckling type we're all used to. My wife and I enjoyed it it.
