** spoiler alert ** So I gotta be honest, this series was like shojo crack for me, since it's been awhile since I read manga this, *ahem*... intense? I devoured it in less than three days. However, the reason I gave this series 3 stars (maybe 3 and 1/2), is that there are a few things about it that kept frustrating me: Hatsumi was not really a strong enough female lead for me. She really should have at least *tried* to stick up for herself some more! And I couldn't stand that she actually chose Ryoki in the end. Yes, he had his moments, and it was clear that somewhere down in that messed up kid there was a sensitive and lonely person. But his inability to stop ordering her around and the fact that he almost never let her speak her mind really kinda pissed me off. If he had changed by the end of the series, and started being nicer to her, I would have been ok with it. Really. But even at the end, he just orders her to marry him! Wtf?! And she's ok with that?? I definitely would not be! I am kind of holding on to the hope that Azusa's plan to steal Hatsumi will actually work, even though he did bad stuff at the beginning of the series he seemed to have matured by the end, and maybe his motivation for stealing Hatsumi is more than just revenge... I'd like to think he actually likes her. Also, I just could not decide how I felt about the whole Shinogu x Hatsumi thing.... far as her romantic interests go, I really liked him the best, and was actually rooting for him, but at the same time I could totally understand how freaked out Hatsumi was by the whole situation!!! And the fact that she kept calling him oniisan even when she was contemplating, eh.... you know what, kinda disturbed me! I will say though, I was loving all the handsome males in this series! (^.^)b Also, I absolutely loved that Akane and Subaru ended up together!!! Subaru was adorable and the two of them together was somehow strangely perfect lol!

Very good historical fiction/fantasy mix. I liked this explanation of Rumpelstiltskin, and I'll definitley read more of Elizabeth Bunce's books.

Dann freunden sich die beiden Mädchen an und entdecken, dass sie eineiige Zwillinge sind. Und da sich Schwestern alles erzählen, erfährt Olivia Lucys größtes Geheimnis. Eigentlich ist dieser Roman für 10-12 Jahre empfohlen, aber nicht nur meiner Schwester (13), auch ich habe dieses Buch geradezu verschlungen! Oft musste ich schmunzeln, laut lachen oder einfach nur mit den beiden Hauptcharakteren mitfiebern. Der Schreibstil ist sehr kindgerecht und gut, sodass man alles versteht und sich in die Personen hineinversetzen kann. Beim Lesen verliert man nie den Faden und es wird nie langweilig. Wie das Thema "Vampir" in diesem Roman umgesetzt wurde, hat mir besonders gefallen. Es ist nicht so wie in meisten Jugend- und Erwachsenenromanen, dass sich die Charaktere in die Vampire verlieben (oder umgekehrt), sondern eigentlich geht es viel mehr um die Schwestern und das Geheimnis des Vampirseins. Somit ist es sehr kindgerecht umgesetzt und es zählt meiner Meinung nach nicht zu den tyischen Vampirromanen. Mittlerweile habe ich das zweite und dritte Band auch schon durch und bin sehr gespannt, wies im nächsten mit den Schwestern weiter geht. Ich kann die Reihe nur weiterempfehlen, denn sie ist spannend, witzig und einfach nur ein toll!

From the previous book, The Iron Daughter, Meghan, princess of the Summer Court, and Ash, the prince of the Winter Court; both banished to the human world away from the fairy world. Finally free of drama. Or so they thought. Meghan was hoping for a peaceful life with just Ash away from the fairy world and all of its politics. However, the iron fey are rising to power once again. This time they back stronger and more determined to take over both the Summer and Winter Courts. Their new ruler though is a complete fraud. The new Iron King is actually Meghan, but will she choose to accept this new position or let the corrupt fake king continue his rein. And how will Meghan react to the Summer King‘s, her father’s, demand for her to come back and fight. To be sucked back into all the fairy politics and forced to part with Ash. Kagawa has once again succeeded in writing yet another thrilling adventure for Meghan and Ash. Every time you think it’s over, Kagawa just throws in another twist. It’s completely unpredictable. The only complaint I have would be the huge cliff hanger at the end. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out how this will all turn out. I just want a happy ending for Meghan and Ash.

Thrilling classic, definitely worth it even if you've already heard the basics of the plot countless times. (p.s. I figured out the who! ... Just not the how. Though it was only by a gut feeling and not through the indicated clues.)
